Funniest Quote Ever In Rock

Ozzy, on the 1st season of "The Osbournes", discussing his family. (I might be slightly paraphrasing, but it's pretty close.):

"...I mean I love them more than life itself, but they're all (bleeping) MAD!!"

"Nikki shot the bottle rocket out of the window, which hit a palm tree... that eventually caught fire. The palm tree in turn then fell on a pristine vintage mustang, both of which went up in flames. Nikki thought the whole thing was absolutely hilarious"

Somebody telling a story about Nikki Sixx when they were kids

"It's like they've all entered a competition to see who could play that ONE song the best, and they all get 10 tries at it"

Guitar player in my band, commenting on the monotony of those "Metal-Core" bands we always get stuck playing with.

Lemmy's answer to being asked about Motorhead's future music: "The same, but louder." :D

Megadeth's cover of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" - when the song ends, drummer Nick Menza keeps going with full momentum, and Dave Mustaine goes ballistic trying to stop him. "Nick! Nick! NICK!!!!" Then you hear someone say, "F(bomb) me running!" I laughed so hard the first time I heard it; I can't believe they left all that on the actual released recording.

The Offspring's "Ignition" album starts with the lead singer screaming F-bombs like he just smashed his hand with a hammer or something, and then it explodes right into "Session". I laugh thinking about what could have inspired that; it sounds both very natural, like a reaction to some event, and also like it actually belongs on the album.

Jones: You dirty sod. You dirty old man.
Grundy: Well keep going chief, keep going. Go on. You've got another five seconds. Say something outrageous.
Jones: You dirty bastard.
Grundy: Go on, again.
Jones: You dirty ****er.
Grundy: What a clever boy.
Jones: What a ****ing rotter.

Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?

"The advantage (of the open-G tuning) is that you can get certain drone notes going. It's an open-G tuning, with the low E-string removed and there's really only three notes you use.

My favorite phrase about this style of playing is that all you need to play it is five strings, two notes, two fingers and one a**hole."

- Keith Richards

"It's like they've all entered a competition to see who could play that ONE song the best, and they all get 10 tries at it"

That might be the funniest quote that I've heard so far.

Here's one I always like, although it's rather quaint and corny:

When asked in an early Beatles interview if the Beatles were either Rockers or Modders, Ringo replied with: "We're mockers!"

Originally stated by Hunter S Thompson in F&LILV in regards to his attorney, in the movie, Dr. Gonzo.

Yeah... I saw that, too. I love that "too weird to live, to rare to die" quote.

Here's some more good ones from HST:

Hunter S Thompson said:
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously.
