Geez, @Ricky Rioli, if you didn't have bad luck, you'd have no luck at all. That is such an awesome bass, I'm really sorry for you.
If the police have agreed that it's been stolen, and it's been advertised for sale, can't they track down the seller and prosecute?
I think the police follow Linda Evangelista's metric for deciding what's worth their while
Forgot to answer this bit. I've been persistently unlucky with this purchase, but in the end all I lost was the cost of buying dollars when they were expensive and selling them when they were cheap, and a whole lot of time and emotional energy. In 2020-21, given All That Stuff Going On, I have been very repeatedly very fortunate. If this is the price fate is extracting to settle that bill, that's fine

Oh man... so sorry. Glad you've been compensated, but you're still missing an instrument you probably waited months for.
In my mind, I had already accepted it had gone astray and had given up hope, so its appearing like that was a blessing, ended the uncertainty. The months of waiting and worrying were a waste, but at least they're over.
That sucks! You should start a dedicated thread here for greater visibility. Advertise the s/n so it gets more hits and hopefully it turns up at the top of a google search.
The cops are too busy (and more skilled) with other things than to deal with petty crime, IME. They are more in the business of educating the public on what's good for them, collecting 'taxes', making sure their budget doesn't go down and looking after the current power structure, mostly.
That was (is) a real nice bass OP and I hope you see it again, by some miracle!!
I only call the cops if I have to to file an insurance claim. They are useless at actually recovering stolen property for individuals. Everyone I know who has recovered stolen property found it themselves and called the cops to get it back, with mixed results.
So, I'm missing my SB-2T that I traded for a Sterling which I really love but should have just bought. Anyway, looking at a possible replacement (if anyone has a 2012 or newer for sale/trade please DM me). Thoughts on T vs. non-T? I generally dime tone on passive instruments but sometimes look to roll off highs for a more vintage sound.
I modded the SB-2T to make it volume - blend - tone which I really liked. I know adding tone to the SB-2 would be more involved as it would require moving the input jack to the side. Or, is there an easy stacking solution? Is there room in the control cavity?

My '95 has plenty of room in the cavity for VVT using the existing pickguard holes and a stack pot.
You should be able to get a tone / volume or v/v tone in there. I had a tribute SB2 that I wired Jazz 62 style:
V/T - V/T concentric pots.
If a blend fit in your previous (a blend is a dual gang) there is the confirmation.

Note my mod to the one I owned.
4knob , 2shaft config. That said, if you went with smaller control knobs you can, using a custom pickguard, squeeze 3 lined up single gang controls and the jack on there.
If you go with the smaller potentiometers, and the smaller knobs,
