I bought a new G&L (from the online store) that was missing that screw. I wrote to G&L, they sent me a new one, free.
I'm glad I did. I noticed a tone difference when I put it in.
I had that happen, too. I took one of the height adjustment screws out of a bridge saddle and took it to Home Depot. They fixed me right up. Of course, the saddle lock screw is shorter, but the diameter and thread are the same, and length doesn't so much matter here. I bought one that was about 1/4" long and it worked fine. I believe the ones G&L sells have a little nylon tip on them. I don't know how much difference that makes against that G saddle, but if you want that, paying for the ones from G&L would be the way to go.

The strings would fall off the edge of the fingerboard XD
If you have some loctite, a dab of that can secure the saddle lock set screw. Those things do tend to work themselves loose over time, so I lock mine in once I know the bass is setup to my liking.

A tiny dab of fingernail polish does the same task, in case you have that around vs Loctite.
OK, now, you just revealed your age, old man. That's what we used to do back in the day before Loctite existed, ain't it! And whenever you needed to rework something: nail polish remover, boom, done.
I've got bottles of both in my shop -- neither has been opened in probably 40+ years...

You want to be sure to use the loktite that will release without too much trouble if you need to tweak the saddles for changing string type etc. I use the blue stuff for that purpose. Getting some of the other stuff to release takes heat or other stern measures and you really don't want to go there.
Does anyone know if G&L gets their pickguards from a supplier (if so, who?) or do they make them in-house?
The dark red tortoise shell material on my Burgandy Metallic LB-100 (2016 model) would look perfect on a Dark Lake Placid Blue Jazz bass I have. I've ordered a red tort guard for that bass from another company, but it is too "orange-y" and is not a good look. The deep, dark red on my LB-100 would be a perfect fit.

After frittering away too much time doing google image searches, I conclude that people find photographing Spanish Copper Metallic and Ruby Red Metallic really difficult: every photo looks different, and very few of them look any good.
And I also conclude that sadly no one has ever posted a photo of Spanish Copper Metallic paired with a pearloid pg

Chandler music made their pickguards up until around 2014 I believe. Now they are made in house.

I had the same experience. My LB-100 is the same color with a tortoiseshell pickguard. Easy to play, sounds great both live and in studio, and looks fabulous. Pretty tough combination to beat. Is my go to axe for any situation.

I agree. I love my Ruby Red Metallic (misidentified as Burgundy above) but have a hard time getting a good picture of it. Thx. Chandler is where the "orange-y" one came from. Vintage Red Tort is the color the call it. The search will continue.
A really pretty color. And the binding and the tort pickguard take it to another level.
This one turned out pretty good. Direct sunlight is required to bring out the ruby color though. They often look anywhere from burgundy to plum in dim light.
