It's funny, I've grown so fond of the single-coil mode that seeing a red switch in the left or right position triggers my OCD to move it back to the middle.
/white switch in passive, too, please.

I'll have to swap them here soon. I have had the Kiloton 5 for about a week now.
Holy cow, the tone is great! It cuts through in the right spot, mid-wise. The low B and E have a clarity to them you don't often hear on other basses.
It's definitely not a P bass, for that low-end support work. It's more general-purpose than that I'd say.
Wonder what it would take for G&L to reissue or do a special run of El Toros?

I put GHS Pressurewounds on mine (4 string). This is one of the coolest basses I've ever played. I got a number of compliments on my sound last night on a backline rig I didn't even have time to EQ.
Single coil is like linguine with white clam sauce and series is like lasagna (I like to eat)!

Just for my $0.02, I recently put DR Fat Beams on my L2k, and they're my favorite rounds on MFDs so far. Other strings I've tried are TI Powerbass, Nickel Lo-Riders, Pure Blues, TI Jazz Rounds, and Fender solid nickel rounds. Maybe others. The Fat Beams sound very good and have a great feel. So much so that it makes me curious about trying other steel strings since I usually go with nickel.
Same here. LOVE the way Fat Beams sound with MFDs.
I have Chromes on my L-2500 and love them. After trying a few different strings, the first set I really liked on that bass were nickel Lo Riders, which I've loved on every bass I've had them on. However, I like how my L-2500 sounds with the treble up relative high and rounds gave me a lot of string noise with those settings (I blame the rounds even though my lousy technique was probably a much bigger factor). Since I've used and loved Chromes before, I gave them a shot on this bass and was really happy with the results.
