Hey all, here is a link to the bass that is for sale. I'm only interested in it because it seems like such a good deal. In reality, I cant justify buying another bass at this time.

But what would that bass have cost in '92? If the seller isn't researching the market and just going by what he may have paid that may explain it. Local sale so inspection is easy enough.

I love it too!!!! I do find that the SVT 212 breaks up fast, so when the pup selector is in series, it's definitely dirty. Well, that is the overly bright, punchy, zing tone that I'm always describing I have, and why I can't comment on flats. My game is that I try to sound like I'm using a pick, without using a pick. The V4B is so awesome... better through the Mesa 412 though.Sounds really good. Did you get your hardware in... aisle 12?
This demo is a bit more aggressive/bright sounding than the experience I had with an ash/maple K5 in the store. Maybe the V4 is part of it? Don't know, but I like it.

It's actually listed as drool in the color codes, but people call it "black burst" because it's easier (and less messy) to pronounce than drool.

Wow! That's the prettiest blackburst I've ever seen - dark enough to see it's black yet light enough to easily see the grain.
The best part is that it plays and sounds just a good as it looks!
Ive said a handful of times and i still think the v4 is the best sounding amp ive ever heard, especially right in the OD sweet spot. I had two 70s v4bs, one with 6550 and one with original 7027 that i liked better. Just needed a little more juice out of them.
The neck on my 82 L2KE is amazing. My favorite profile. It also has a different bite than the newer preamps. A bit on the heavier side at 10.75lbs but its been in more gigs with me in the time I've owned than all my other 4's combined.
And that said, i broke out my Blackburst L2500 earlier. That thing just sounds amazing!

Since @armyadarkness brought up Vintage G&L's I thought I'd go ahead and post a couple of my 82 in Natural.
Lots of Birdseye and flame in the Neck. You can really see the Birdseye in the headstock. She had a pretty rough life before I got hold of her. Eventually I'm going to refinish in Butterscotch since the original finish is already gone and I'm really not fond of Natural Finishes on light wood. No Offense!!
