Yup, caught that! I was wondering if it went through the Custom Shop since it doesn't seem to be among their USA offerings right now.

My first thought too but their CS posts usually mention the custom shop and that one does not. Interesting if nothing else.

As far as I know, those are both options on new G&L orders but may not be listed on their site.

Well after 30 years of playing bass and never finding a 5 string that has wanted to come home with me they usually feel completely foreign from my jazz necked 4 strings. This G&L MJ-5 made its way home with me. Great feeling and playing bass. So today is 2 things that are firsts, I now own a 5 string and a G&L!

Let us know if you like the balance knob taper. Some folks think it's too narrow, acting more like an on-off switch.

Will do, however I am more of leave it in the middle or slightly bumped to the neck side, then leave it forever on my j style basses.

Posted my 2016 L1000,before but after seeing these L1000's

thought I would share again,and I am loving this L1000! Even the wife took notice,and said that is one the prettiest one you have had. So I better keep this one!
