Geedy's New CS Jazz

I'm a fan and I built him a bass! :D

And a nice one at that, you know that's gotta say something about your building.

I mean, if you built the man a bass, and it's good enough for him to play on tour, that kinda leaves very little to be worried about by other customers.

Definitely a nice selling point for future builds.

Have you done any others for notable people?

RUUSH is the greeatest!

I'm getting a sweet looking cherry burst Jazz with a Geddy neck in a couple days and this thread is making me salivate for it. Too bad it won't be relic-ed. Oops, did I just say that out loud??

EDIT -- I wonder if I can add a picture:

I made the mistake of going to my local music store... They had a used Geddy for $600, mint condition, and it played so perfectly. I can't get it out of my head. The problem is that I just bought another Jazz six months ago, and the wife would kill me. :(

$600 for a nice Geddy Lee is a good price isn't it?

Hi guys,
The bass you are talking about is a Surf Green Fender Masterbuilt Jazz Bass with a matching peghead.
It was built for Geddy as a surprise from his tech for the upcoming tour. I am the builder that made the bass so I know this as fact.
Sweet bass, and so happy to see he is playing it on tour!

It's a beautiful instrument - the surf green is West-Coast cool. Is there any background story on color selection?

I made Steve Harris a backup to his West Ham United bass.
You can tell the difference between the two by his real one the Fender logo has worn off and the one I made him has the early 70s Precision Bass logo on it.

Can I show this to my wife;)

If you think it'll help, go for it.

Here cut and paste this for her.

WOW!!!! $600 huh? Those things usually go for MUCH, MUCH, MORE than that.
That's a steal at that price, you'd be crazy not to move on that right away. You're NEVER gonna find a deal like that again.
I know you probably have to run it by the queen of your abode but I'm sure she's a super intelligent YOUNG lady that would NEVER allow her husband to miss out on such a bargain.
You're truly lucky to have such a cool, understanding, supportive, and, awesome wife.
I specifically recall you telling all of us here on TalkBass just how great she was to you, and how she truly was the best thing to ever happen in your life.
I think she'll probably just buy it for you, I mean after all the compliments you share about her, and constantly boasting about how great she looks every day, and how incredibly flattered you are to wake up each day knowing she's there.
What a score, you seem to have THE BEST wife EVER!!
And, you go and find yourself a bass for a fraction of the regular price. Well done sir on all accounts.

There ya go, now she can't possibly say no, let us know how it goes :-)
