Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 Appreciation Thread

I'm really enjoying my Shuttle 9.0 as well. I've had it for several months now. I use it by itself direct at church and home recording and then with a Golight Marcus Miller 4ohm 4x10 with a couple of bands. Like Red Planet said, I think it mates really well with the Golight cabs. I also had a Golight 2x10 for a while, but personally prefer the sound of the sealed MM Golight 4x10 with the Shuttle 9.0 so I use it 100% now. Super versatile great sounding amp, imo. Here are some direct clips I've done with it recently using a Carvin SB5000:

Those are SB5000 -> Shuttle 9.0 -> DI out to Line6 TonePort UX2 -> Reaper on my PC. All the EQs are flat, no signal shape switches engaged. Gain is at around noon, volume dimed. I think the amp sounds great with a flat EQ, which is the sign of a good amp, imo.

I wish Genz woulda given you a portion of the amount they made on my Shuttle 9! I was flirting with the idea of getting the 9.0, but I literally went out and bought it after hearing these clips! :bassist:

The D.I. out on this amp is great. Too often I found the direct out having no relation to the amps actual tone. Even post eq.

@Dirtymungoo : I play The Blues almost exclusively. Previous amp was an swr sm900 and as much I liked that amp. This guy kills it. I have noticed in my setup, modded Lakland and Hydrive 410 that the tube gives me a smooth drive.

After looking high and low, I finally found one of these babies. I bought it from Bass Central (I should have started with them) at a great price and they included free shipping and a Shuttle gig bag. I can't wait to get my hands on it and hopefully use it on next week's gig. I'll be using it with two Aguilar GS112 cabs.:hyper::bassist:

Last weekend I used my Shuttle 9.0 on my first electric bass gig and used an Aguilar GS112 on top of my 1990's Trace Elliot 210 Cab. Both are 8 ohm 300w cabinetgs. It was a blues/funk/rock gig and my bandmates were floored by the clarity and presence. I ran it flat as well (just like with my double bass) with the preamp at 12 o'clock and the preamp gain at about 1 o'clock. It is the best sounding amp I have ever played through. You won't be sorry, I promise ;)

I used my 9.0 today at a Studio in Atlanta. I used it as my direct box both for my Electric Bass and my Upright Bass. The Engineer was impressed at how good it sounded.

My Genz Benz assisted me in making some money today. Nice. :)

I just got mine yesterday. I haven't been able to spend much time with it yet but I found that the more I tweaked it the better I liked it. I'm pretty psyched about pushing 500w through my 8 ohm LDS 12/6. It'll be interesting to see if it supplants my LMII ;)

Excellent sound and excellent playing!

I got mine last night. I got up early this morning, brewed up a pot of coffee, plugged in my STL9, dialed in the recommended startup settings and practiced, practiced and practiced some more. I didn't even tweak it. It sounded so good that it inspired me to practice like I haven't practiced in a long time. Not just any piece of equipment can do that.

I've gotta go practice now.

I feel the same way, love this amp. No need to EQ, just add a bit of bottom and walla, it's gorgeous. I can't get enough.
