As a previous owner of a 66 EB-3(EB-0 with rarely used bridge pup)that I unwisely sold, the Mudbucker appellation had a lot to do with the limitations of the then available amps
and the then in vogue fat bass sound-very little definition of pitch. Like almost anything, a little twiddling of knobs, both on the bass and especially on the amp, cures a lotta ills.
I've mentioned b4 that when I needed a SS, I couldn't find an EB-0(Gibby or Epi)in black/ebony*(I'm shallow) for a decent price-or at all. Thus I bought a Squire VM Jaguar SS. It's "OK", but it's not really 'me'. For a 7ender owner, the Squire is prolly the better choice.
