ps. I have taken considerable delight in proving to my sons that I did walk to high school, uphill both ways.
Whenever they wanted to pull my chain, they'd call me old and bring up all the standard "back in my day" tropes, as if I had actually said any of them.
During a visit to their grandfather, in the city where I attended high school, they were shown how his house and my high school were situated 4 miles apart, with a huuuuge hill in between. So, coming or going, I was walking uphill, at least halfway.

My (boarding) school was on a hill, and there was no avoiding it.

Like lobster, our local Sitka "spotted" shrimp taste like mini-lobster tails. Very firm meat and flavorful. I can tell the difference between warm water shrimp and Alaskan shrimp. Warm water shrimp are soft and have less flavor. I think the Sitka shrimp are firm and tasty because of the ice cold ocean water.

Although our friends give us shrimp a few times a year, we also buy from the local seafood processor by the 2 pound box. They're flash frozen. Here's a box of local shrimp ready for consumption.

Lyman Smith had an interesting life. He was a businessman that founded a number of companies such as livestock and lumber. Whatever seems to be the up and coming thing that could make money from. He founded a firearms company, L.C. Smith shotguns. It did very well and the guns are highly collectable. They were produced until 1945. He sold that company and founded what would become Smith Corona, his best company yet. In 1900 he donated a massive $750,000 to Syracuse University to build an Engineering building which bore his name.

In 1914, Smith Tower opened in Seattle. It was the 4th largest building in the world at the time. That was some erection.

but the brand of typewriter is never mentioned IIRC. The linotype is the most elegant evolution of the typewriter. I don't know (okay yes I do, and in detail) how typewriter DNA and computer DNA mixed. We are very not happy about it.

The Combat Zone, now that was a wild place . I was a little young or a little too innocent when that was in its heyday but of course had been there. I remember When Rep. Wilbur Wills' girlfriend went swimming though.
