Thank you bro. I appreciate any feedback LOL!.
I thought you played pretty well. In my mind if they paid you at the end of the night and offered another gig it was a perfect night!

Howzit? I've had a couple of interesting weeks here, huffing lots of smoke and waiting to see if any of my friends' houses were going to burn down. It finally started raining yesterday, after about 100 days of total drought. No bueno. Couldn't even think about working in my shop for the whole last month either, with temps at 95+ or hotter pretty much every day. The fire eventually made it all the way to within about 8 miles of me, but it only skipped across the Columbia River to my side in one place, and that new fire only made it up to 250 acres or so before it got put out. The one on the other side made it to 45,000 acres. Here's a time lapse taken about 25 miles downriver from here on Sept 4th:
Glad you're okay. Keep safe.
I've been thinking of you guys Charlie. Even down here on the west side of Portland we have been breathing smoke for two weeks plus. Being very severely asthmatic myself I have been literally sick from it. The house and all its contents reek of smoke. I'm sure it's much worse up there. I was thinking of leaving town for my health but the last two days have finally cleared it out so I've had the house opened up and fans going to purge it.
As bad as I feel my friend is worse off than I. He came by to help me with some dump runs on Friday. The first thing we were going to load was a couch. We picked it up he took one step backwards and stumbled and sat down on his butt with the couch on top. First thing he says is, I broke something. I said are you sure and says yes. So I pull the truck up and I put him in the front seat and off we go to the ER.
Sure enough, clean break. A titanium pin and six screws later Humpty Dumpty is put back together again and home the next day. Down side is his wife is confined to a chair so the next six weeks will be fraught with challenges. I feel terrible even though I know it wasn't my fault, just an accident.
Be careful out there folks. Even if you are perfectly healthy, like my friend who walks and hikes, as we age frail we get. Sucks to admit it but we just do.
Be careful out there and stay safe my friends. Remember the tortoise, slow and steady wins the race.
Take it easy. Kirk, out.
Charlie, prayers for you and yours. Hope you hold up fine in all the mess.Thanks. I was never in direct danger, but my health did take a fairly big hit even though I didn't go outside much at all for a few weeks. Now we're on to landslide warnings because of the heavy rain. The last time we had a big one I-84 was closed for over a month IIRC. That all happens mostly downriver too, which is OK for me but terrible for my many friends who live that way. I worked for 5 years right where that vid was shot, so it hit very close to home.
I'm 47, and have been playing for over 30 years now. Does that count? LOL
Also been repairing, designing and building effects, doing setups (20+ of those 30 years), as well as being a general opinionated old bastard for about the last ten years or so...
I dunno basscapes, you're pretty young to be an official GOF. You might be able to get special dispensation from the membership committee and get a provisional membership until you've got sufficient years behind you. We'll have to check the bylaws and discuss the matter at the next membership meeting. You'll be expected to demonstrate appropriate levels of grump.
Does anyone remember when or where the next committee meeting is? Do we have a committee? Are there any bylaws?
Did I remember to turn the stove off?
My pills... Where did I leave my damn pills?

That's GOTTA mean something around here!!!
Cheers!
Besides, I'm already balding AND have gray hair... That's GOTTA mean something around here!!!
Can I add (in my defense) that I drive a car with a stickshift AND NO A/C in Florida? To us you’re just a whippersnapper!!
Not to mention wet behind the ears!!![]()

That's okay. My old guitarist is two years older than me and completely bald!Hell, that describes me at 37, which was 30 years ago! Just keep on playing that tune and you'll fit in just fine, @basscapes. Gitchyergrumpon!!!
No AC in Florida doesn't mean you're a GOF, just crazy. There's a separate thread for that. Most of us show up there too.Can I add (in my defense) that I drive a car with a stickshift AND NO A/C in Florida?
Tell you guys this- why don't you just leave all your cool gear to me when you shuffle off this mortal coil?
LOL
