LOL. You just uncorked an early GOF memory from 1970 or thereabouts...
My record player was dominated by Johnny Winter, Hendrix, Cream and Led Zeppelin at the time, and I felt that IAGDV was far beneath me, due to the lack of mandatory badass guitar solos.
So of course, I ended up at a basement jam session with a bunch of kids who could barely play, and wanted to learn IAGDV. I could already play the song by memory just from radio airplay, but these guys kept dropping the needle on the LP over and over, trying to get the hang of it.
By the time my dad picked me up in the truck (4 hours later), I was twitching and muttering like a junkie. Years later, I would still snap the radio off within a couple of bars of anything that sounded remotely like Iron Butterfly.
Despite the heavy guitar obsession, I was also very fond of softer fare, even back then. I will definitely have to listen to the tracks from the other side of the album!

Speaking of old farts, Don Williams passed the other day. I worked with him a few years back, solid, straight ahead 'ol country.
Played Tulsa Time in tribute of ol' Don. One of my favorite songs. Lotsa fun.

The album was recorded to benefit b Instrumental, a Fort Wayne Community Schools Foundation initiative that provides instruments, technology, and training to young musicians. Performing are Kat Bowser; The Fierce Invalids; Unlikely Alibi; Moser Woods, featuring Marnée; APQ Harmonic, featuring Sunny Taylor; Brian Lemert; Nick D'Virgilio; and Carolyn Martin.
Admission is just $5 per person. Exclusive Covers for a Cause vinyl albums, including a digital download, will be available for sale at a special discounted price. All proceeds go to b Instrumental. For more information on b Instrumental, visit fwcsfoundation.org.
$5 tickets, $20 or 30 for gas and a couple hours each way, beer. Wife can drive home.

In all seriousness we’ve lost a hell of a lot of musical folk this year and we’re not done yet! 
I'm afraid we will see more and more of that in upcoming years. 60's and 70's performers that hit the hard lifestyle are starting to pay for it. At least those that didn't pay up front... or get all Ozzy brained. Interestingly, many of the groups I really liked (and still do) took fame and fortune in moderation and survive.

As a poor serf, I'll never realize the strength and discipline it took for many of the stars to avoid the pitfalls of fame. At that level corrupt agents and companies offer you substance and flesh freely-- and often allow or ignore the excesses. Heck, if the artist goes excess, and dies of an OD, their sales go up! They get you coming or going.
But yes, sadly, we're going to see many more 60's and 70's casualties. Sting switched to vegetarian 30 years ago and didn't imbibe. People made fun of him and now at 60+ he looks better than some 40 year olds...

Poverty and wealth have so many parallels. Gang banga's fall prey to the same thing, drugs, jail, VD, unable to establish a reasonable relationship. Only a very wealthy man or a very poor man can afford to live in a cabin.
Oh, if I give up eating red meat, I can run around in public without any pants? Hmmmm, tempting, but not worth it.
Oh, yah, Steve, I almost forgot. My initiation to IB was on the swim team. There was a record player in the coaches office, an underwater speaker and the PA system that it was piped to. IGDV was the only LP in the office, probably an original copy. We had AM and PM swimming, both featuring a 17-1/2 min. swim, as he called it. So he played the disk, and we were to complete as many laps as we could before the music ended. We often swam well over 5000 yards in one practice, so the music was associated with pain and suffering. I quit after two years. Perhaps a love affair with IB always begins with pain. Did you listen to some of their other stuff yet?
Played at a nice place last night called the Mean Queen. It started out as a pizza and wings restaurant but the owner converted the first floor to a nightclub. It's a nice place and great acoustics. Here are a couple songs we played last night.
The singer started losing his voice while singing Little Wing. Please forgive.
Here's my poor attempt as singing Margaritaville LOL.
I sure love the little Edens with my GK MB500 now. Next time I play I'm going to try out my little MB200 to see how she fares.
This was a fun night. Sorry about the poor lighting but please note my diminutive 3 foot tall Eden double-stack with the GK MB500. Small stack of dynamite!

The bass frequencies on my computer playback aren't the best way to listen to songs, but it sounded to me like those Eden's and the GK made for a solid little rig - thanks for sharing! If you do plan on trying the MB200, definitely take the MB500 with you just in case. I really like the 200, but the extra headroom in the 500 might let you dial in more the voicing you want rather than being restricted by needing to push the amp to its limits.
I'm assuming you have the 8 Ohm Edens too. Neither of those heads are rated for 2 Ohm use and the more popular EX110 version seems to be the 4 Ohm (actually more like 6 Ohm) version.
Hey Al! I lucked into two 8 ohm versions. Perfect for my needs. No interest in the 4 ohm version. I agree on bringing the MB500. I just want to see what the little guy can do. BTW I had the master barely on. Sorry for the rave but I'm more impressed with that little stack after pushing it a bit....

My Eden EX110 is one of the very, very few bargains in my life that ever paid off. I'm the poster child for "you get what you pay for", and even when I do pay top dollar I usually get the one in a million defect anyway.
I was hoping the Eden would be okay for the simple uses I had in mind, but it turned out to a be a nice, professional quality piece of equipment...that just happens to look like a toy model instead of a real bass cabinet...
