Sitting in front of a computer screen all day, not getting enough exercise for long hours at a time doesn't help in terms of eye strain, headaches, blood flow, posture, etc.

I force myself to go out everyday day at 6AM for an hour long walk, just to get the creative juices flowing. It does wonders.

Now you tell me this, as I have spent the last week updating a large component database... mind numbing but absolutely essential.

My creative juices force me to get up. Couple times a night.

My day gig requires nothing but sitting...and in mind-numbingly boring. No mental activity required whatsoever the vast majority of the time. It really is a health hazard to us over 60 types... gotta get out of it real soon. If I go into 2018 I will be amazed.

At least my bits of mind numbing work are mixed with a lot of creativity, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it. It's a fine line...

Well life can get in the way of what you are supposed to do. Specifying parts can be pretty tedious when you have to first search suppliers for all the latest. Having a database is a smart way to go. Even getter if it comes with library entries for the PCB software.

As for mind clearing walks...

There should be a club, bass players with cronic back problems!
Man..ouch...I ran a pain clinic for 35 years and back problems are one of the worst situations. The best thing I ever did for myself and my spine was to learn qigong 40 something years ago.

That's exactly what I am building up, an integrated DB.

I can only dream of such a day...

Just finished shaving large amounts of lumber off my P-Bass V, in order to lighten it. Got to look after my creaky back...

Of course, between standing at the drill press, leaning over the body with rasps, an orbital sander, etc., I've thrown my back out!

I think my back is trying to trow me out!

Just as well you can play sitting down! :)

Try Biofreeze | #1 Clinically Recommended Brand - Biofreeze. We swear by it here.

Thanks for posting that Paul. I'll look into that one. Tra-med/Tra-meel is pretty good, german homo-pathic thing.

Also Well wife can get in the way of what you are supposed to do.

Numbers issued by the number of verified bad disks. No pic, never happened, so have to post MRI's :D

Yeah, at times in the past few years I've explored the limits. These days it's mostly just the daily chronic kind, with a few memorable experiences thrown in for variety. I just keep on keepin' on.

Chronic pain defines what you can and can not do on any given day. At least when you’re in pain, you know that you’re still alive.

So it's been a week since the doctor visit. The hearing in my left ear has returned to about 60 - 70% with a pretty obvious high end loss. And the worst part is really loud tinnitus that sounds like a high pressure steam leak. The right ear is back to pre infection dysfunction.
I'm going back to the doc tomorrow to see if the infection is cured. If this doesn't resolve soon, it means an overnight ferry trip to Cebu and some more modern medical care and evaluation than what is available here. Just another challenge of living where we do.
