Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

What really annoys me and is dangerous is when people drive their work trucks like their personal car.

Painters, gardeners, electricians, delivery trucks all driving in the fast lane. No handling, stopping or acceleration available if anything goes wrong or traffics comes to a quick stop.

I've had shovels, mattresses and paint cans come flying out of trucks at me.
Don't forget ladders and mattresses!

You should see the crap that flies off oil field trucks. I’ve seen a arc welder on the road...hundreds of tools..large gas bottles used in industrial welding...ladders...buckets...brooms...literally thousands of hard hats...tires of every conceivable size...chains...(my favorite) sucker rods...

Rarely these guys will loose explosives used for seismic exploration...good times

Thanks Will. It was so quick! She was only diagnosed in October! ALS is like that I’ve heard. Her husband has a serious heart ailment and is not taking the loss well. I will send a prayer for him to find strength.
I told my wife if I get sick like that, I'm going to take a pill and go for the big sleep.

IMO, No sense in hanging around wasting time and money. Everyone can say good bye and be done with it.

No funeral, claymation. Save money.

I'm making memories now. I help my daughter, grandkids and others, the best I can. I don't yell at anyone and am respectful until shown otherwise.

Life is short enough. Why effe it up?

Sorry for your loss, Paul. Pass on good thoughts.

I feel we are sort of brothers in arms-- spread long distances, but we have common bonds. Being older, being seasoned musicians, having families, and most of all sharing grumpy!

I'm thankful I can come here and talk with my GOF gang. I don't have a lot of friends and everyone I work with is younger. I have no common memories. So you guys are kind of like who I would hang out with if I had physical friends LOL. I hope this year brings us all better news, and I hope tragedy forgets to look our way. It's still January and I can hope for the best for all of us.

Big Al...the optimist for all of us! :thumbsup:Thanks for that.

My memories aren't that common either.

I drive about 5000 miles a year with a horse trailer... that will open your mind to the level of "driving stupid" that's on the road today. Can be very scary at times.

I've been driving with horse and work trailers for 35 years, never had an accident but have avoided many potential ones.
I hauled my Index milling machine from a punch press shop in Louisville to here, about an hour N. of Indy. Tandem axle trailer pulled by my Jeep GC with her I6. Other than fear of stopping fast, and the tandom axle trailer always wanting to go straight forward, it was uneventful. No brakes on that trailer either. I think I broke some laws of physics. I drug my lathe home from the same area on my single axle trailer, but it's only a couple thousand pounds. That old Index mill is closer to 5000#. This is how I discovered the scrotum actually has muscles and neurological parts. It's fully capable of making a decision to put your balls away for safe keeping.

How does the tracking work?

You get a dog trained in tracking to follow the scent of the wayward genome to it’s source!! :)

Time to lighten up! My four year old son came home from school one day and said to us “Do you want to hear a dirty joke?” Looking at each other, we said “OK.” His response was “A boy fell in the mud!” We felt relieved! :D

Happy February to one and all!! :D
