These days, driving hour logs, drug testing, and vehicle testing must keep most drivers legal.
Yeah. I 'hung it up' in 2007. It's gotten stricter since then. Some companies 'force' their drivers to fudge their logs(still), but it's harder to run illegally and penalties are stiffer.

I was hammering the coffee during the Snowmageddon of this year. Had to to stop... chest pains. Didn't shovel any of it.
Stopped the caffeine, they went away. Back to one cup of coffee in the morning.

Strictly the roadster type here. Largest car I ever owned is the BMW M3. Neither love nor money will get me to drive anything bigger .... All said the Audi S4 holds an astonishing amount of gear. It's just that ... just that ... just that I found myself unable to lift that massive 1x15 ported cab I scored in the 80s. Guy I lived with then built it with the intention of being totally road-proof. Massive enough to wear a Peavey logo. I mean massive. Served me well. Except a single PJB C4 pwns that old 1x15. Guess I'm the roadster type with rigs too ....
I find that my Chevy SUV has less usable storage space in the back than my previous Impala car. The SUV has height but the sedan had more surface area for lower things like groceries. Granted, the SUV has fold down rear seats but I’ve never used the space that way. The sedan had a trunk that was better for security, the SUV has a lot of windows.
For cabs like the 115 the SUV wins. You don’t have to bend down to place it inside. Bear hug the cab and place it in. Same for heavy amps such as an SVT. Way easier for someone else to load. A Leslie speaker cabinet fits in no problem, couldn’t do that with the car.
The SUV, being big and bulky, is less stable on the road. They even have a pictogram warning on the visor showing that it can tip over. That’s reassuring.

That 1x15 of mine was a beast. About waist height on its wheels, and maybe a meter across. It saw a lot of use in the day, made me feel like I had a real rig with two 15s roaring. But I was kind of crazy then ... strike that.
The sad end of the handmade 1x15 saw it used as a makeup table. Jettisoned the cab only three years ago ...
In the day I could lift it into the boot of the poormobile.

Some homemade cabs have a way of being overbuilt.
I use a pair of these EV SH-1502 cabs, the ones on the right. They are heavy at 78 lbs each and awkward to lift. EV used what they called, Road-Wood to build these really solid cabs. It’s chip board in phenolic resin but has stood up like a tank for over three decades.
The pair on the left is a later revision, the ports are on the bottom rather than under the speakers. Both are based on the earlier TL-606 design.

I mixed a ton of shows on a pair of those things just down the street from where I live, quite a few years ago. They're still around this area somewhere, I've seen them in at least 2-3 different clubs after they left the one I worked for. I never had to move them, thankfully.
I do that one in our band but I changed"Jimmy" to "Mack" since GMC got outta the big truck biz a looong time ago.
Guessing bennies would be a bit harder to find nowadays too.
