No need for any mods, if you'd prefer to just use something like this (if it's needed with this cab):

I'm sure you could find something similar for speakons, too (or make a Y-cable up yourself easily enough).

I'm glad to hear that the OP (and others) is (are) digging this cab! I've been able to play a lot of different 1x12's, and the Neo112-II can pretty much hang with any of them, price be damned. It's an amazing cab, and even more so when you factor in price. The Neo212-II is an equally good performer, IME/IMHO.

And I'll also echo the sentiments that the GK HMS bi-amp option takes a while to get the "feel" down (balancing the woofer/tweeter, in addition to playing around with the tweeter/woofer Hi-Cut switches), but once you do, I think you might really like it. :cool:

+1 Speakon connectors are easy to work with I recommend that route. I do not recommend using the plastic "Y" 1/4" adaptor in the link above. Adaptors like this are designed for line level signals, not high current speaker level signals.

Thats exactly what I did with my Markbass LMII, it works great!! This way I get the full 500w from the LM II.

Compared to the original HT112/EX112, the Neo112-II sounds deeper and bigger. The Bergs have more focus in the mids and a prettier high end. Both are fairly balanced within their operating range.

Has anyone powered the GK's with a Shuttle 9?

Believe it or not, I have another two coming to me on top of the two I'm getting from you. Four of them daisy-chained to a Mesa 400+...I'm thinking good thoughts about this. I also have a Reeves Custom 225- might work ok. Two WWUltras; use the send from one to the input of the other, now you have a rig that can also power all 4 cabs. I could go on, but I'm hoping to be done with gear with the addition of these cabs.

Can anyone comment on how "full" sounding using two of these at once would be?

I'm currently trying to find a set up that sounds full yet defined and punchy for medium to small gigs. For that matter, can anyone comment on the GK sound compared to SWR for example (which i've been using for years, but have been growing weary of the general undefined low rumble of a tone unless you're standing right in front of the cab.)

Will the gk 112s take me in a more punchy direction than 410s?

I have two of the neo 112's with a 700rbii. I like it a lot. The sound is very full. Before I bought one of these I had the neo 410, which sounded great as well, although I think you get a little more low end out of the two 112's. Either set up is good. The deciding factor for me was the fact that I could put one cabinet on each side of the drum set and the ease of transporting them around. Can't go wrong with any gk product.

I am not gigging with one Neo112-II, though I have gigged with a Neo212-II/Neo112-II stack, and I have some experience using two Neo-112-II's. One 1x12 just isn't going to be enough for me on most of my gigs (though I have not tried an AK Thunderchild yet - but that's a different story).

I sold my UL-112's before I got my Neo112-II's, so I can't do a direct comparison, but I believe that the GK would hold its own in terms of volume and "bigness of sound." Two of my favorite 1x12's currently on the market are the Bergantino AE112, which punches from top to bottom, and has a strong upper-midrange, and the Bergantino HT112ER, which is huge and deep in the lows, very slightly scooped in the mids, and much smoother. The Neo112-II sounds like a blend of those two cabs, and comes very, very close to the same level of performance (but costs a whole lot less).

In short, I think that the Neo112-II is a great cab, and if a single 1x12 would get the job done for you, then the Neo112-II should serve you well.
