GK mb200 ultra light head?

Wow, I just plugged the MB200 into my fEarful 1212/6 4 ohm. 
that's a very loud 200 watts. Gain was only at 10:00, but my wife thought the house was going to come apart. The low B string sounded great, really clear. I thought this little amp wouldn't have the oomph to make a fEarful 1212/6 perform, but I think this is the amp I'll be using with it.

OK. I just have to post this. I got a mb200 last week and tried it out this weekend. Saturday night with 10 piece R+B band. I used the balanced out to the PA and a 2x10 on stage, and a P-bass. Sounded great, more than enought power and the sound man loved it as did the drummer and keyboard player. Sunday afternoon used it in a musical theater pit orchestra rehearsal, I wanted to check tone and control at lower volume levels. Again, the amp was perfect. I used a 1x12 and J-bass with active electronics. Sunday evening used the same rig with a 21 piece big band. Soundman and drummer (different guys) commented on the amp. It was more than powerful enough for the stage.
I'm sold on it. It's the number one amp. I've even know of a guy here who is using it instead of his Walter Woods. I would love to A-B the mb200 with a Walter Woods.
The only thing to note here is that I wanted very badly to buy this locally and called every Guitar Center and other store within a 50 radius. No luck. GC wanted payment in full, but would not guarentee delivery date. I got it from Amazon.com for the same money. What a world.

the 210 used to be a hartke, but after 22 years one of the speakers gave out. I replaced both of them with Emenence speakers. The 112 is a cab I bought on eBay and put a Emenence with neo mag in.
I've got both. Very different flavors and both great in their respective ways. MB200 seems more colored to me but in a good way.
GC Columbus would actually move some GK bass product if they carried something in stock here. I'm sure there is a reason, but I have never seen another MB series (besides the combos) here at the Columbus GC, and I go in every couple of weeks with money burning a hole in my pocket. The only MB series amp I have ever seen was a MB2/500 when they first came out after NAMM of what...2009?. They had one in open box with the footswitch ziptied to the handle. I bought it and returned it the next day because it had issues. They sold it to someone else and that was it. I have never seen another GK MB amp in there since. They don't even know the model numbers when I speak of them...

I would guess that only the MB112 would stand a chance of sounding the same. The MB amps are comprised of some 4 little circuit boards that are all jumpered together with wires via molex connectors. Not knowing if the MB combos use the exact same circuit boards, but if they are different, then they probably will sound a little different.
The other amps and combos have a boost channel and a limiter. Since no other GK amp I have sounds like the MB200 (and they have all had a boost channel), I assume they will sound a little different. I'm only speculating, not having A/B'd any of the combos to the MB200.

Probably the one thing I don't care for on this amp, but, I usually don't care for the Countour control on ANY amp ! Just not my thing as far as tone goals go. I would much rather have a compressor than a countour control, but, I'm probably in the minority there. Because this head is so portable, it probably is the most versatile bass head out there today. So far, Ive used it as a stand alone head, as a preamp into a power amp, and a headphone amp hooked into my computer to learn new songs.
Just ordered one of these from Sweetwater. $230 shipped with three payments. Can't wait to give it a run through.
