Some people thought Frank Zappa wrote it with its Zappa-esque musical form but he did not. His Synclavier was used to create the theme song and his son Dweezil was the voice for Ajax Duckman.

Frank was to be involved but got too sick to participate and died before its airing. On episodes throughout season 1 they did use some of his commercial releases.

The first episode “I Duckman” was dedicated to Frank Zappa.
