Grounding Problems..

Leave it! I had an effect that I used exclusively for what I called, the rock and roll reverend. My fuzz was picking up an AM gospel station and it was awesome. Just embrace it. Also learning to solder is easy, try to hook up with a tb'er or find a guitar tech in town and have em show ya!

Oh heck the kid could solder. Its easy. I was using power tools to build skateboard ramps earlier than 13. Far more dangerous. I'd brush up on your knowledge of guitar circuits and figure out how to solder. Hopefully you've got 25-50 bucks laying around to get you the supplies (or your dad has it). Good luck.

It is a terrible idea for a 13-year-old kid to learn to solder off youtube. Whatever you do, do not do that. Wait until you see your dad and get him to show you how.
really? he is 13 not three!

seriously, this new gen is wrapped in enough bubble wrap already! Dangerous to solder? man he has a brain.

Max, ,I was trying to tell you that if you learn to do this now,you will be far better off in the long run.

If you don't you will be forever paying people to change tap washers etc like most people these days. Don't join the masses .

By 10 girls use curling irons, I'd like to think by 13 a kid could handle a soldering iron. Heck, did they do away with Shop Class in Middle School??

All we did in shop class up here was crappy wooden stuff. Really crappy wooden stuff. Also, our shop teacher kept trying to get students to go to his cabin on the weekends to help in some "renovation projects". Pretty sure he went to prison a few years later. Not even kidding.

Huh. We did stuff with wood of course, but playing with band saws, routers and such, learned a lot about working with dangerous tools at a young age. We also did woodburning stuff
