We were posting about it in this thread awhile back, I was sure it'd be Marvel and not Sunday comics, there wasn't a pic which made the description even funnier.

Not sure about the Squire series part of it but I have a 97 MIM P with that black logo and have always heard it was USA parts assembled in Mexico during a transition period for what that's worth. It sure plays and feels nicer than any of the other MIM basses I've tried. If it's anywhere near as nice as mine, 150 is a damn steal!

Yikes.I had to look that one up. 18 frets and FOUR strings..somebody dropped the ball..It needed to be 18 frets/five strings/high C. How come they never made that again?

I had one. They came in red and white and sold out of musiciansfriend almost immediately. A few GC's had the red one and I got it. I loved it but I couldn't deal with the red. The number of frets didn't bother me. I woulda kept it if it was white. It was really a great bass. A few people said they had intonation issues but mine was fine. It was bizzare. Fender put it out there and then stopped almost immediately.

Interesting..I was reading the threads today..so "in reality" this is a better version of a ss squier? maybe that's why they stopped? (as if I will ever understand Fender...) But still..grabbing that high D never bothered you? That's like my favorite note on a bass! ;)

Not really. What did bother me was the little body. It didn't sit right on my fat thighs. It was fine standing up but I'm a couch noodler for 90% of the time. That, and I don't like shortscales really. It was an impulse buy. It was a better version of the Squier, but that's a jag. This was a jazz (PJ really, but that's fine by me) and as far as I know the only shortscale jazz other than those awesome little MIJ smart size basses.

I like ss's basses a lot too, smaller lighter etc. It's always tempting to get a rondo thing as they offer them all the time, but by the time you're done it's more $$ and time than it's worth. OKOKOK BACK TO HOT DEALS.

Used Invalid Link Removed at GC Times Square. Played this bass at lunch today, good deal and in really excellent condition!

Some scuffing on the B string side of the fretboard at the 1st fret, neck was straight as heck, electronics functioned as new. Played better than the "new" model they had out on the floor. Only issue I could find with it was that I didn't buy it on the spot! ;)
