Sure, it's a dual box mini 6 watt amp that I use sitting on my desk for practice and that hang on me when my uke group roams room to room at UCLA/Mattel Children's Hospital. I added a shoulder strap and hook/loop them together. Other people say they use it for small area busking. It's about $100 out there.

Actually our guitarist is usually pretty good, but he thought we were playing in our Classic Rock format IN the bar! He showed up and said 'oh man, this is an Acoustic gig? I brought my friggin' Bassman and a Strat!' We all had a good laugh and just miked his amp, which he kept at monitor volume. Ordinarily he would have brought an Acoustic with his Fishman mini for this type of gig and maybe played an electric with a couple of pedals through the Fishman as well for some of the more uptempo songs. As band leader I should have clearly stated we were acoustic.. my fault. He sounded great anyway :-)

I have the Blackstar Bass Fly amp/Ext. cab as well... It does what it does very well (IMHO), it is fairly loud and it is easy to get a good sound out of it. I think you will be impressed by it...

Wondering if any of you are crazy like me this way. I don't like sharp edges on an instrument. I have sanded down many pickups over the years because they feel like they are going to slice my finger. I have also sanded the edges of some bodies.
[yes, a travesty to some, but - I buy instruments to play, not to worry about keeping in pristine condition.]

I just sanded the top edge of my Ibanez PNB14E. The edge was digging into my arm. Now it is rounded.

Anyone else have the disease?
[By the way, did I mention how much I love this PNB14E and how special I think it is? Oh, I have? Ok, carry on. :) ]

This is good to know and appreciate the info. I absolutely love my PNB14E, but I do find the strings a little too 'zingy'.

I'm kinda' liking the D'A strings... they've played in rather nicely. I'm using FastFret after playing to keep the windings from tarnishing. Haven't had any excess zing that the treble knob couldn't roll off. To tell the truth, next to my Turner Renaissance basses, this is the least 'quacky' piezo I've ever heard.

Next thing I'm going to try is a low-pass filter... I just want to see how it does. It might rob the 'acoustic' character. We'll see...

It was so easy to do it was ridiculous. I'd never done it before and it took me about 10 minutes. Use a sharp carpet knife, a vice and cut out little square sections a bit at a time. Mine is a bit rough but that part is inside the guitar where no one can see it :)
Made a HUGE difference in feedback and the guitar seems almost as loud acoustically with the cover in. I'm now going to make another for my Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat guitar, which also has a smaller than standard soundhole. I'll do a little better job on this one.

I have emailed Magma (the Transpositor Bass). The bass is $700 and can be shipped to USA. Buyer needs to supply shipper, and I would assume shipping is not cheap. The 'Tube has some cool videos of classical guitars strung with the transpositor strings that effectively make it an acoustic bass IV.

I ordered the Aquila ShortBase One-60 August 27, shipped September 9, watched it take a nice trip around the area in Italy, including CITES and customs, supposedly to the US, but ended up back at Aquila as of September 17. I received an email yesterday apologizing for the delay by UPS and that they sent it via a different carrier, Poste Italiane, with a new tracking number. They said a couple of days to arrive, but tracking as of this evening, September 20 shows it 'In Transit' with no arrival date. I hope it doesn't go the long way, east from Italy, over Asia and the Pacific, but who knows. A few years ago I had a package go from China to Long Beach port to Philadelphia, then back to me in Los Angeles.
