Nope. I haaaaaaaate Twitter. I had one briefly but find it's just a people to complain (sometimes rightfully so) and get in drama with other folks.
! That is definitely true. I literally only use it when I can’t get a response from someone like the cable company. Maybe because it’s public to everybody, it’s the only way I get a response sometimes from a major corporation. But I hear ya

I was just having fun. I have one that's still active, but I only look in once in a while. It seems a combination echo chamber and sewer.
My walnut G2220 arrived three weeks ago from GC. I was amazed at how perfect it was out of the box. The setup was spot on. It was one of the only guitars I've purchased where even the intonation was perfect. I just put it back in the box and its going back to the store next week. Thanks for the report Lobster!
The pickups aren’t as advertised, but it’s still nice.
Judging from the pictures the coil is wound around two joined steel plates that are magnetized by the two black magnets at the bottom on each side of them. Definitely (a fat) single coil, obviously, but it looks like half a sidewinder on its side. Verrry peculiar. I'm curious as to the DCR value.

I purchased mine in 2021 and am thrilled by it. The playability, the neck, and the pickups. I really don't care what they are, they sound great. But they were advertised as mini humbuckers and that is why I bought one. So I feel duped.
If you're going to advertise that they're mini humbuckers then they have to be on there, if not, it's a plain case of bait and switch and a clear case of false advertising.
I just can't believe that for a bass that's been out there ten years nobodies noticed this before.

They intended to make money off of us for not knowing better. Dont defend them. It's not dramatic. I would not have bought this bass at all if I had known. If I were to lie about a product and sell it, I'd get sued for fraud. I have been fighting the noise that shouldn't have been there since I bought it.

It's simple. I would not have bought this bass if I knew it was single coil. My money was parted from me fraudulently.
@LowEndLobster here's mine photos with paper as promised. Bought in January 2021, so it's likely a 2020 model. I've notified Sweetwater. Not sure what's gonna come out of that.
Given that mine is going to be strung ADGC for solo bass noodling, I'm not sure I care much beyond the fact it was advertised as having humbuckers. It's just not right.

GretschWretch posts only about things with which he has some familiarity. To do otherwise would only add noise, not signal, to the discussion. The only Gretsch basses GretschWretch owns are the vintage 6070 and 6072, and the contemporary 5440LSB and the G6072. No short-scales, solidbodies or guitars, and no interest in any short-scales, solidbodies,or guitars. So why waste money on them?
There are some Gretsch-centric forums on the web as well as standalone links. When in doubt, I use these myself.

I like mine... I just LOATHE hum. Perhaps it's because of some hearing loss I've got, but that extra noise bothers me. I refused to play/own J basses for YEARS because of hum. I only played on one this last year, just to see what it was all about. I've been playing (poorly... with log gaps) since roughly 2001. So that's a long time to refuse to play an iconic instrument just because of hum.
i agree with you that this is no bueno. I was actually wondering if there are any known Fender employees here listed as commercial users or otherwise. If so I would think mentioning them might get corporate’s attention.
