Having BassCliff Gig Report Withdrawals

I completely agree Cliff, many more things in Sturgis more fatal than a virus. But we can't get to political on here.
We made it up north about 2 hrs ago, just got things ready for company and our guitarist and his wife are here. Singer/cajon player is not expected until dinner. So far the weather looks all kinds of beautiful tomorrow so we should be outside which means no livestream since no internet available there. I'll keep you posted on that. Now if I wasn't logged into my work computer I'd be golden.

Here's the view from my makeshift office in the loft above the garage. Yes, that's Lake Superior right there, I"m so ready to have a "beverage" and get the kayaks out!

So a few years back now I was gigging with a local classic rock band , it was some guys I had known and played with previously. The sound guy was a member of a Motorcycle club and we played for there annual spring fling, turns out the guy that was the Grand Poobah of this club met his demise while out at Sturgis, lost control of the machine and sailed off a steep embankment out there.
We just got the official word that we will be playing outside in the gazebo so that precludes the live FB show. I'll do my best for a gig report.
Wish I could have made it up, will probably be up there next week sometime weather permiting. Have a great gig

Good zoom meeting last night as always, nice to get back on again after another hiatus.
Had to leave early to get a ton of flowers and tubs of table decorations out of my house. Our daughter is getting married 9/12 and her and my wife have been using our home all week to assemble bouquets, programs, table decorations, etc. Hated to leave the meeting early but happy to get that stuff out. My OCD was not thrilled with the amount of extra "stuff" in the house all week! I built the arch for the ceremony a couple weekends ago so had to install some wires and screws to hang flower arrangements on that.
Excited for her and future son-in-law but lots of work. The other two members of my 3 pc, Eric and Carmen, will be playing a song at the start of the service so that's cool. The guitarist is an attorney and he is certified to perform marriages, he's involved in that part of the service too. He married our son and daughter in law in 2019 too, great to have that personal involvement.
No gigs this weekend, wonder what wedding project I'll be working on?

What I’m doing on my “lunch break” today. Picking a few blackberries to make into....something.
These early shifts give me a chance to do things besides work (and before the rain hits lol).
Whatever we end up making, I’ll try my best to send some to you guys - unless it’s something that can’t be shipped. Probably have a good 5 gallons of blackberries left on the bush by my car, let alone the ones in the backyard lol.

I have a raspberry patch in my backyard, I wonder if I could get some blackberries growing in there too ? maybe they would need there own patch. I tried strawberries once and they just didnt take, maybe the soil, who knows. You can get them at the store cheap enough

So - on a good note, the week after next I should have a new item to share with the group. Theoretically it could be here for next week’s....but doubtful. Coming from the East Coast.

Its a wedding, soooo.... you have to bring the horn section right ?
Not gig related but we've talked about many other parts of our life in our meetings. So here's a shot from the father-daughter dance on Sat. Tough day for a dad!
