Help me to appreciate matching headstocks

All of my basses have matching headstocks. I use the same clear satin poly finish on my headstocks as I do on my bodies.

Almost exactly the bass I'm saving up for after snagging up the recent RockBass version for cheap. Same colour, too.

After seeing these pics I'm already negotiating the sale of my kidney because I just can't wait. Holy crêpe.

I don't mind matching headstocks on basses if the bass has a visible grain underneath the finish. But anything solid I usually prefer a mismatch. Heavily depends on the colour as well though.

It's really a case-by-case basis.

Guitars same thing, though I do generally lean more towards matching. But again, a sweet-looking guitar or instrument is just a sweet-looking instrument.

I can promise you won't be disappointed if you get one. I love this bass as much as my $5k custom shop Mayones. In fact it may bump the Mayo for Saturdays gig.

So ya know what started this? I saw this L2K. Loved it. I then experienced the violent anti-matchy matchy headstock thing. Why?!?!

Good news is I think I've been healed by yall's amazing pics. I'm back jonesing for it...

Hate is a bad sentiment.

But as we are in a pointless thread, I want to confess that the one thing I hate are these massive rolls of toilet paper you find in airports made of lesser-than-1-molecule paper thickness. You pull and it breaks in minuscule useless chunks of paper at the moment you most need it. Whomever thought of that should be shaved, sterilized and destroyed.

In reference to the thread, sorry, can't help ya. Matching headstocks are cool.

That being said, I don't have any, both of my Musicmasters were repainted.
