How low do you wear your bass?

Well i'm a pretty small guy so I mostly just put it as high as possible. I like having the bass right there and not down low

I'm tall (6'-5") with long arms. I sling it low, and haven't adjusted my strap since I got my first P-bass about 5 years ago.

I do adjust it when I put my jazz on though. I wear that a little higher.

Plus.....we all know low=cool looking.

I actually wear it fairly low and when I play sitting down, I'm somewhat sideways with the bass kinda next to my leg (it's never technically on top of my leg)... like this:

I have mine so the neck joint is a few inches above my navel; the bass' body isn't touching my belt buckle in any way. So pretty high, I guess.

Me too. I like to be able to play more than just the E string and higher than the 5th fret.

I play with mine as high as my strap goes... being a fender strap, it doesn't go that high, plus I'm short. My neck PU is usually around the height of my hips when I tilt the bass up.

I have one bass kinda low (I use it with the death metal band i play in), and the others I have on the upperhalf of my body..

Its weird though, I am just as comfortable with both.

does it feel better at those heights or is it to help look the part thing?

I generally hang my bass about 1-2" lower than the seated position. Feels a tad more comfortable for my right wrist.

I wear it where my hand falls on the strings with slightly less than a 90 degree elbow bend.

I like it higher but then in hurts my right wrist. Lower looks better for our rockband setting but it just kills my left wrist.

That's exactly why I've been utilizing a middle ground.

i sit w/ my bass and adjust the bass so that i can stand up and sit down w/ out the bass dropping or rising.

That's what I was taught, as well. I adjust it a couple inches lower than that.
