How low slung is your bass?

I wear mine reasonably below my waist, body centered about mid-thigh. Not crazy low, like Trujillo or Ben Shepherd but basically exactly like the great Carlos Dengler:

I even keep my bass neck at basically the same angle. I experimented around for a long time until I tried something like this and it just felt right. Just not as tall as Carlos...

I mostly sit when playing, even though I do also usually still have the strap attached, which has been adjusted so that the bass hangs pretty much the same place as when I sit (also while actually standing up), which is to say just about just above my belly button, or from another perspective so that my fretting arm is approximately bend at a straight 90 degree angle at the elbow.

Like so (I swear the mirror really is less dirty than it looks on this picture , and the dirt is mostly just toothpaste that gets splatted up on the mirror when I brush my teeth ) :

Used to be the same sitting or standing. But with the bass resting on my left leg. Nowadays the strap is at the same height. But the bass don't tuck into the hip joint while I'm sitting like it used to. I guess it's a little on the low side. But I keep the neck pointing heavenward and both wrists stay comfortably straight. With enough bend in the elbow to keep my thumb parallel to the strings for slapping.
