Currently 9 bass guitars. Plus an EUB and a double bass.
Trying to sell the red HB semi-acoustic and the white Cort Elrick on the background though.

Was wondering what my GAS progress or lack thereof had been in 5 years.

Still have the Ibanez, the BSX, and Warwicks.

I no longer have the Reverends, which basically were replaced with Maruszczyks.

And I have a Bass VI now.

I have 5 now. I've hit a limit: to keep a bass, I need to use it for gigs at least once every two months. I have one bass that I'm not using to gig but I love it because it's well made and beautiful. If I were to change my perspective to view it as a piece of precision (corporate) craftsmanship, then I'd keep it. But I have this thing about functionality and it's really not a collector's piece.

It is a very purely idiosyncratic issue of mine. In my old age, I decided I prefer basses with at least 24 frets. I will still say that the Reverends are extremely good, like, you could charge 30 - 40% more for them and I would still call them fairly priced.

I had two and there is a shop nearish to me that had them, so I've played many and seen zero issues with them. And mind you, I am a ridiculously picky person. Like, the annoying dude that will get fret files out in order to get half a mm better action on my bass. And both my Reverends were meticulously made. I didn't have to do any work on them to get silly, like 1 to 2mm action at the 12th without excessive buzzing. And they sounded great.

But Maruszczyks punch at a similar quality. And come with with 24 frets. And you can get totally custom pickup options and color, wood, etc. They cost a lot more though.

So I would absolutely not hesitate to grab a Reverend, if you aren't a weirdo like me that must have 24 frets lol.

The latest Sire I got pushed me up to 10, but I only have a couple that aren't Squier or Sterlings modded like crazy. So several cheap ones that are there to have fun with. Heck, even the J in my PFP is a refinished Squier VM with Ultra pups and an Audere pre. But is sounds and plays better than any Jazz V I've ever been tempted to buy.

- Warwick Rockbass Starbass 5 string (Solid Daphne Blue High Polish, Vintage Sunburst Transparent High Polish, Solid Creme White High Polish) (but too expensive)
- Sire Marcus Miller M5 5st (but too ecpensive)
- Ibanez AGBV205A (but discontinued)

Well, I'm thinking of a shakeup for my collection of five. Here is what I own:
Fender Am Pro I Precision (flat wounds)
Fender Am Pro II Jazz
Fender Ultra II Jazz
Ernie Ball MM Stingray Special I
Fender Am Vintage II '54 Precision

I am definitely selling the Vintage II Precision, and might sell the Am Ultra Jazz and the Ernie Ball MM Sting Ray. That will take me down to two basses: The Am Pro II Jazz (my main gigging bass) and the Am Pro I Precision. Two isn't enough and so this creates unfilled capacity, which I will fill, in part, with a Yamaha. I'll take a loss on the sales but I don't want to keep instruments that gather dust. And even though the Ernie Ball has been a gigging choice, I'm not a fan of active basses and as I get older, I find that I'm simplifying in everything.

Just scrolling through and I saw this. Great bass, but just one? Aren't you worried about needing a spare for gigs? I'm working my collection down to three (at five right now) but I can't see going to one because I've had bass breakdowns and I can't go without a gigging instrument. I do admire the discipline, though.
