How many basses this Year?

I basically started playing bass again this year after a couple of years off. Had to buy all my gear from scratch again, so I have done a fair bit of shopping.

Ordered and received two custom G&L's this year, a M2500 and a MJ-4 fretless. I bought a Yamaha Attitude LTD-II as well. On the amp-front, I got myself a great deal on a lightly used EBS Reidmar and a EBS Neoline 2x12 cab. Got a Boss GT-100 and a EBS Billy Sheehan distortion pedal as well. And I ordered a G&L guitar too! :help:

Bought 2013 Gibson Midtown (new) last Christmas/New Years
Bought 2013 Gretsch Junior Jet (new)
Bought Ampeg 115B (used) to pair with my Ampeg Micro-VR and 210AV
Traded the Gretsch and the 115 (+$$) for a 2014 Gibson EB (used) - Hated the SS and didn't care for the 210+115 mix
Bought a second Ampeg 210AV (new)
Loving the EB, and the two 210's are just right to my ear
I'm sure 2015 will be more quiet - That's what I'm telling my wife anyway.

I haven't bought a guitar in over a year (and don't plan on another one) and it's been a year and a half since I bought my last bass (and don't plan on another one).

But I did buy a Carvin powered mixer, a Roland Octa-Capture computer interface (awesome piece of gear, by the way) and a Fender '59 Bassman LTD.

So it goes.:D

Sold gear:
1. ESP LTD B-336SR 6 string prototype
2. ESP LTD B206-SM
3. Boss ME-50B multieffects (prolly buying another one back by year's end)

Bought gear:
1. Trace Elliot 4052 Bright Box
2. Yamaha RBXJM2 guitar with flight case
3. Markbass Compressore
4. Markbass Distorsore
5. Markbass SuperBooster
6. Markbass Chorus/Flanger
7. Markbass Mini-Distortion
8. Trace Elliot 7410HSM 4x10 GPS7 200 watt combo amp

Basses: bought 0, sold 0.
No current plans to change either column, but I'm starting a new project and it may influence future decisions.
Added a 1x12 cab to cover coffeeshop gigs where the 4x12 Rig Of Ennui may be considered overkill.
Added wireless InEars to the Rig of Ennui because - fretless.
Added BeatBuddy to the practice room stuff.

Zero basses
Zero amps
Zero pedals (unless you count a Cioks AC Rider power supply?)
One set of strings, a pickguard, some replacement switches, a replacement string retainer and a capo I got for 95% off were my purchases this year.

Is this thread like basketball, where the highest score wins, or like golf where a lower score wins?

First year in about 20 years that I bought some new stuff. And I hit it pretty hard too..

- Bought a EBMM Sterling (3 band EQ, 3 tone sunburst, maple fretboard. A beast)
- Bought a Lakland Skyline fretless (MWWHAaaa)
- Bought an Aguilar ToneHammer 350 (easy to use, weighs a fraction of my Ampeg SVT 3 Pro although I have to admit I prefer the sound of the latter, which I kept)
- Bought a Bergantino CN112 (WHAT a difference with my 20 year old Eden D210t. The cab was my most recent investment until this year)

I have to say; I'm over the moon with the Sterling. The whole new rig is ultra-portable and sounds fantastic!

I'm getting good at this..

Regards
Mark

Yeah, I've been eyeing one of those as well. Not that I can justify it any other way than "I wants it!". :D

I think that the main thing about this bass is...the tort truss cover!

FYI there is one on the bay now. Just mentioning it because I am afraid I might have some explaining to do, i.e. "This is nothing like the Godin! It has F holes! Look...tort truss cover!"

I think I could get her to understand...and it's still 2014!

Happy holidays all.

You sure didn't screw around getting back into it!:D

Bought two. An 80's Yamaha P Bass beater for passing about at open mic's - then I stopped going to one mic's. And an Olympia clone of my old Thunder chief. Love that one. Cheapest bass in the house and really fun to play.

This was PA was year for me. Lot's and lot's of PA gear. Next year is year of the box truck I expect...

Oh fit, I traded an archtop for a Taylor 414ce. Love the Taylor....

Keep trying to divorce basses I don't play. Beginning to eye my barker, one of my guilds I advert half heartedly... One day I should get serious about cutting down on the basses.
