How old were you when you had your first gig :D

Opened for Born of Osiris and Veil of Maya in Ybor, I was 17 at the time. I had shows before that, but that will be my first real gig. A guy in a penguin costume moshed to us so that was nice. The guitarist of BoO told our rhythm guitarist to "**** off" so that was lame, but good night, nonetheless.

16. I moved a total of 2mm the entire set and was the definition of a shoegazer. I played well enough though. I'm getting that itch to play out again thinking about it.

I think I was 15. For our first gig the band went to Penney's and we all bought matching blue and white striped velour V-neck shirts. It was kind of a Beach Boys look. I thought that I was the coolest thing on two legs.

I was 15... Then I played rhythm guitar for a few songs, keys for a couple and was the lead singer. I remember the guitar... It was a BC Rico Wave NT. The setlist included such gems as Sweet Child O Mine, Limelight, Yyz, Crazy Train, Wait and When The Children Cry by White Lion, Dream Warriors from Dokken, Bon Jovi's Runaway and You Give Love a Bad Name, Uh All Night and Tears are Fallin by Kiss, and some other great hair band classics...

It's hard to put a date on when my first gig was but one date is for sure. I was playing 4th tenor for a local big band composed of high school and junior college kids. One evening the singer said she was worried about her husband because he was on the Forrestal and it had caught fire that day. There were casualties. That was July 29, 1967 and I was fourteen.

WRT to bass, it was around '68-'69. It was a horn band that grew out of the previous big band. Three or four of us quit and started our own thing. Tijuana Brass, some other nonsense. I arranged the parts. We did a lot of gigs though.

I played a Precision owned by the guitar player's father. I think he payed $250 for it. I also played through a fifteen watt tube amp he built. We built the cab. A crappy 15" in a that-looks-good-enough box.

I was 18 or 19. We were a student bluegrass band, and I played mandolin. It was at a VA hospital of all places. We were the first band on and were pretty well-received. Good memory.

First paid performance I was 16 and we lied about our age to get a gig at the local bar near us... we were a hairy bunch that passed for older, but he 70's were a different time and that kind of thing was more common then. Many school band and theatrical performances that were not paid before that.

Technically, my first gig was when I was 12... my music teacher at the time let my first band play for my Junior High's senior class during a school event. We were awful.

My first "real" gig was when I was 13... I filled in for my cousin on bass in his hardcore band when he had Mono. It was a Battle of the Bands. We were disqualified after the drummer and singer got into a fist fight with some people in the audience towards the end of our set lol.

This is gonna sounds a bit confusing, I had my first gig when I was 19, I was in a metal band and I used Yamaha RBX4A2 with a rig that was already there!

I was so nervous, but it was a really good gig!

13. Last day of 8th grade the school staff let my guitarist, singer, and I (No Drummer) play during lunch. We played...

I was 6, I sold tickets to friends and family that I had made up, gig was just me and my Pearl drum kit on our porch! Think I made about 10 bucks. I had my light bright hanging from the drop ceiling with my band name spelled on it, cant remember the name, that was 32 years ago!!

I was 18 and had been playing for about a year and a half in an all original band. We did 5 original songs on a Tuesday open mike night in front of about 5 people (4 of them being family members) and had a blast!

Ditto, age and we played the same songs a couple of times. Girl's birthday party, and I was playing a Silvertone guitar through a borrowed Fender Twin Reverb. The parents, who were having their own party in the kitchen passed around the hat and we made like four bucks each. Quite a prize in 1963, when burger, fries and a coke were a buck.
