there are no rules. Pedal or no pedal, its all good. I have nothing against them but have never owned one that I can remember. Had a chorus effect built into one amp once upon a time, it was cool but I didn't use it much.
It speaks volumes about how they approach their craft which, in turn, makes me want to never check out their music. Derivative, hacky and boring opinions are most likely to come from derivative, hacky and boring musicians.
I've tried a few pedals over the years..envelope filter, chorus, more recently an overdrive pedal..None really have stuck with me. Partly because Im lazy and like the simplicity of just plugging in, and partly because I like a clean sounding bass.
That said, I've been wanting to experiment with a delay pedal recently, so ordered an echolution yesterday...

Why is this even in Bass Humor? It's serious enough that people are getting their knickers in a twist.
