g4string - just download one of these -> Jamup, Amplitube, Amkit or PocketGK. They all act as amp sim w/effects ( you have to purchase them as in-app of you want bass gear - except pocket GK which is only bass ) and will all either import your iTunes songs or play in the background over your itunes library. Importing allows you to adjust the balance between bass and tune.

Thanks....can I use these on a desktop Mac too?

Just sold my Jam, plan to get a Sonic Port at some point, unless something better comes along. My vision is to put the sonic port onto my existing pedalboard and integrate the infinite sounds you can create with iOS into my existing rig.

Speaking of which, the suggestion of midimorphosis transposing bass input into midi feeding another synth, or any number of other things you can trigger/do with midi, is spinning my mind in circles right now...

Ampkit and Amplitube have versions that can be used on a Mac. The Ampkit version is pretty close to an exact copy of the iOS version. The Amplitube version is completely different.. and much better than the iOS version also. There is another product made by Sonoma Wire Works called Riffworks that might be worth a look too.

The Sonic Port is all I hoped for and more. I downsized from a PT-2 and PT-1 to a PT-2 with dirt pedals and a Zoom B3 and a Mini that hols an iPad, the Sonic Port and a, soon to arrive, IK BlueBoard.

Same idea, totally enjoy my board with pedals but really enjoy the sonc creativity through AmpKit, JamUp, MidiMorphosis....

Excited here.

It's spinning my head too, man. I'd love to set off arpeggios like ZZ Top stuff, or a randomized arpeggios while I pump 1/8 notes.


But I've got to get this live/performance sequencer thing figured out, first. I've got about $25 into apps that look like they will do what I need, but don't. The most interesting I've seen so far is TableTop. Most will do what I want with the drum machine, but have no setlist function. I really don't want to make a long sequence of 8 different songs strung together, every week. That's even more tricky. Now I'm looking at DAW sequencers that have a setlist function. I'm not seeing that either.

Been reading here but not posting.....
My iOS app for talk bass is totally screwed since the update and it makes it really difficult for me to get on here and post. I don't like the safari browser on my iPad and phone for this site for some reason.....don't know why but I just don't.

Anybody else have problems with the new talkbass app?

It really sucks because I love the talkbass app. It's so much easier for me and quicker really it allowed me to quickly read and post. And everything was so much more easily accessible.

(Right now I'm not at work....I'm home and I can sit and get on here and take my time.)
I miss the talks.... :)
I need my talkbass back!!!!!!!!

You know..... I'm loving the D'Addario super bright strings. With the effect apps, I'm finding they are exceptionally versatile. But then, I don't regret buying the iPad for my new bass rig.

Have any of you used "Set List Organizer" by Yamaha? It looks like the missing like for those that want to run sets in a performance. It says it will send MIDI info to external MIDI devices, but will it send patch change info to other apps that are running??? I'm searching the web to find the answer.

I use Tapatalk for ios viewing.. never liked the talkbass app and I actually thought they just stopped supporting it a while back in favor of Tapatalk.
