Is it bad to date the lead singer ???

It's just as likely the band will have drama and break up as ya'll will, so why worry about it?
I’ve been married to the lead singer for 37 years with no issues. We have worked together in many different scenarios as well as separate projects. Right now we are in two bands together with no problems plus I have a duo that doesn’t involve her. It can work.

Well, they got a good album and some arena touring out of it, but that bass player had to play supportively behind all of those lyrics about what a jerk he was.
It worked out better for Gwen Stefani.
I married her 38 years ago. So, in my case.....no issues at all. AND we're still performing together 3-4 times per month
It doesn't have to be that way at all.
The first thing that the guitarist in my band found out, where I've been with the lead singer for 10 years, is that adults can separate the two, and my decisions were based on the music. If she comes unprepared to a rehearsal, I'll let her know about it, just as much as anybody else.

Seems to have worked out pretty well for Pat Benetar and Neil Giraldo... but of course, he wasn't the bass player...

Yeah, telling him to go ahead is unorthodox, and in my younger days I would have been against it. I was in a band that broke up because the singer and guitarist split so it very well could end the band. But I am playing the odds. I think a better chance that he has a connection with someone he shares his time with than the chance of his next record going platinum.

I've been in three bands with couples and swore I'd never do it again. However, I'm in a band with two couples right now! Any band is a multi-way relationship with all that entails. Intimacy between bandmates makes it more complicated.
