I was just about to post a thread to see if it was true, god damnit, this is a bad day, he was one of my favourite bassists, i was actually going to see him perform in september! This is too tragic for words... The ox! Gone! Bass Guitar will never be the same, RIP John... if there isnt one hell of a tribute on some radio station or tv channel i'm going to shoot someone, excuse me, i have to go throw up now...
Just devestated. Between Geddy and the Thunder Fingers, I don't think I've played a note past them. He was such a great ambasador for our instrument. Like Hendrix for guitarists, if your going to be a great player, you have to get through the Ox.
Man! I was excited, i have tickets to see the Who with John Entwistle. I was finally going to see the legend that had helped revolutionize the electric bass guitar. I'm sure the Who will do a rememberence dedication thing on tour, unless they cancel it.

I am pretty new to the bass, but John Entwistle was indeed my biggest influence. I will indeed miss him, just as many of you will. Rock has lost a legend.

There are no words to describe how I feel...
John Entwistle IS the ONLY reason I play bass and I'm interested in the world of music. When I first started to listen to the Who, he struck a chord with me. I was amazed by his playing, but it wasn't until I saw him play on one of their DVDs that I made my decision to play bass.
He is truly a legend and pioneer. I will never forget his contribution to rock bass playing. Who knows what I would have become without him.
Thank you M. Entwistle for all the great moments you have given me and many others who enjoyed your work. You'll always be my hero.
I know he and his best friend Keith Moon will be a team again (after 24 years) and have a great time in the after-life!
