Jule Amps Monique part 4

Has anyone played their Monique ( + Minnie ) trough Audiokinesis Thunderchild cabs ?

My Monique is about to be shipped in a few days and my only cab at the moment is the TC115, which is a wonderful cab. Just wondering if someone is playing the same rig. How do they match ?
If I remember correctly, the user Nomatic has used this setup..?

I have, and I love the Monique/Minnie/AudioKinesis combination. :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

I have 2 poweramps I run with Monique (not both at once).... A Crest ProLite 2.0 and Crown XLS2000. Both sound great and are crazy loud but if I had to pick one it would likely be the Crown.

Out of curiosity, why the Crown over the Class D offerings by Crest, Demeter, Peavey, QSC, etc.? I run Monique through my GB SM9.2 power amp in, but have wondered if a dedicated PA amp would be superior sound-wise (better sensitivity match, etc.). Thanks.

I have a Crown XLS 1000. It was the right price, and has a built in HPF (with variable freq option) and limit protection. I chose it for that and the fact that it bridges to 700w at 8ohms (my cabs are 600w @ 8).

It certainly sounds better than when I ran Monique into the Power Amp In on my TecAmp Jag 900. Much cleaner and clearer, mostly in the highs, though noticeable across the spectrum.

I was using a Crown XTI2000 and decided to see how it sounded with my Carvin DCM2000 and have not went back to the Crown. The Carvin does not change the tone like the Crown did even with the filters and DSP off. I do run a Fdeck with it. The Crown wasn't bad but I favor the Carvin.

So I've been trying a new recording strategy for live gigs. In the past I've must put a Zoom H4n somewhere on stage and called it good. Often had good results but bass can get lost. So I have now been running direct out of monique into one of the other channels. And last weekend I went for the ultimate solution which was to pick up one of the new Zoom H6 units.

So last night's gig was with a violin player who I met at a jam on Monday. No vocalist so we went instrumental. H6 at the front of the stage, bass in the 3rd channel, feed from the board (kick and sax), and H4n on the other side of the stage near the violin amp and sax player. Did a quick and dirty mix, but a very easy way to multi-track live

The Crown was inexpensive, the input sensitivity works well with Monique, it is fairly light, powerful and I figured I might as well get something with DSP for future use.

I have no need for almost 2000W (almost 4000 bridged).

Sounds good to me. Also love the wide range in https://soundcloud.com/nostatic-live/afro-nostatic-w-violin

Thank you.

Thanks Jule. First time for this lineup but everybody has big ears. Really happy with the dynamics and energy. So this week violin/sax/drums/bass and last week bass/drums/bass. Monique is getting involved in some interesting combinations.

Cool! Sounds super ambient/atmospheric - really dig it

So I get to Cape May with my wife and check in to our room, and this note was left on my bed......

So Jule, I didn't realize that Monique would not only reward me on my gigs, but on vacation too! Nice! Haha!

any gut pics of Monique and or Tardis

These are gut-ish pics of the Dove Cage/Bamboo, and the Rack Mount which is exactly the same inside as the Tardis.

Love that last line.

A bed and breakfast, eh? Never did one before. Not exactly enthralled by the idea. How is it?

Lol. Yeah it took a lot if convincing from my wife to get me to go to my first one a few years ago. It really is quite nice, but I can see how it could also go terribly wrong if the hosts and guests aren't the best. You're kinda stuck with them since you all eat breakfast together.

Luckily for us it's been a positive and fun experience.
