Jule Amps Monique part 5

I'm interested in the barefaced big baby, fearless 112, and the bergantino reference 112 which I played today. I liked it. I like bergantino and it had a familiar sound that I'm comfortable with. The barefaced and big baby would be blind purchases. The monique was a blind purchase that I'm very pleased with. Way to many great choices.
I've heard good things about baer as well. The fearless stuff seems like it has the widest range.

With Monique Bamboo, I'm using one of these combinations:

• Berg REF322 (210/112)*
• Berg REF224 (112/112)
• Berg REF434 (210/112/112)^
• Berg NV412T^

*most of the time...
^my favorite pairings...

I like this a lot. I have ip322 in 1 cab so adding a 112 would be close to what you have. Don't know if the m700 would be overkill for a single reference 112 and would a single reference 112 be good as a stand alone cab. The "stand alone" is what I'm looking for which is why the fearless and barefaced have my interest. I have a great cab in the iP and I'm sure any of these cabs would add to that greatness.

How does it sound with a single big baby?

Impressive.

They sound like you're running through FOH when you're not. Even a single performs the same way. Pretty incredible.

I play in a loud rock power trio. It's always been our goal to sound very full without bringing subs and extra equipment so we can play practically anywhere and not look like we're going to be intimidating. But 9/10 when we're playing that quiet tiny restaurant with a dinner crowd the place transforms once the night moves on. Our volume levels go up and we rock out.

I wanted a two cab solution with the prerequisite that a single cab could handle almost any gig we do just in case one went down. I'm happy to say these cabs do that and then some.

I push them pretty hard, use distortion, boost bass for dub by reggae tones, and generally beat of them. I haven't had a single issue in over a year of steady gigging.

Don't you just love the low-end extension and the phat tone, yet quick and tight attack? I have zero rig GAS. Although Tom Bowlus does on occasion seek to instigate a purchase of a third cab. :smug:
Totally agree! That set up has extension and defenition as well. I can only imagine what three can do. I am happy with 2 arrays and the Monique 700 with the sensitivity pulled out and between 12 and 3 o'clock. It scares of guitarists.

I tend to use the sensitivity as a seasoning and it depends on the bass. I have a different setting for each one.

I used my stack at a gig for which we had different guys sitting in, so I was able to hear my rig out front. Sounded awesome. My sound guy was complaining about another bassist being to loud and I told him to just take him out of the front of house. He already had. And Monique was turned up less than half way with line out pushed in. I just don't think I can justify a third cab, even though I am ......
A little TRI-curious....:roflmao:

Monique is very powerful. 2 cabs are fine. I wonder how the Magellan compairs to Monique.
