Since the Black Beauty Kit is going well, and seems easy enough to install, I think a Chocolate Bamboo Kit is a good idea. Yes.
The difficulty with these Bamboo Enclosures is time. They are great fun to do, but it does take time. Hand made by Phill Beuhrig here in Santa Cruz. Takes time. Hand finished by me in a cloud of Nag Champa. That takes about 3 weeks.

And I like it. So does my band.
But then I like a solid, defined, percussive, punch-in-the-guts sound. If I had a recording that wasn't direct, or decent gear/talent to make one, I'd share it. Anything else is just my subjective evaluation, and unfortunately I have no KJungian or Bowlus-like gift for describing the tone and frequency response.
I suppose I could offer that, since Monique has been described as having shades of B-15, coupling her with sealed 15" cabs with ceramic magnets and no tweeters does bring that old-school thang. Especially when paired with the Tony Franklin strung with Chromes and the tone rolled off a bit. The smooth and well-balanced midrange can also "lift the veil off the sound"/"clean one's aural glasses" without getting piercing or brittle.

I've always been enthralled by the tone and girth of the Aggie DB751, but not a fan of dragging that much weight around. Anyone have experience with a 751 compared to a Monique 700? I know the 751 can get stupid loud, but that is not really what I'm after. I'm more interested in the "weight" of the notes particularly the D and G strings. Thanks for any help!
I think MDBass has had both, and sold the 750 or 751 in favor of Monique. You might try PMing him for info.
Has anyone done the leg work on an injection moulded case like a pelican or gator? considering either separates for the dove cage and M2500 (same size as m700) or larger case that can hold both?
There should be a sticky somewhere with a Talkbass dictionary. Of course the usual, warm, growl, heft, led sled, etc would be in it, but KJungian and Bowlus-like would be at the top of my list. That actually made me laugh out loud when I read it!

Hands up who did not know that Jule Potter defines customer service and stands behind his product in a way that must be bordering on the unique? You all knew? I knew as well. But I know again now.
He's a very bad man.
At one point I had 2 Moniques and he even forced me to buy a Paycheck 40 guitar amp from him.... and I barely even play the damned guitar!!! And he also harassed me by sending free t-shirts and a hat and I think even a free Monique soft case.
I still need to buy him a drink though. My wife loves Santa Cruz and we just haven't got there recently.

Any who are interested, my Monique was DI to 'tape' for this song with very little tweaking on the 'backside' of things.
It's also the tone I use live, so it's treated me pretty well.
