Jule Amps Monique part 5

So how do you guys change tubes on the Monique? It's held together with these tiny little hex bolts. I don't have anything that will open it without stripping the bolts. It's a beautiful amp, is there a tool somewhere that will give you better purchase on the hex head screws without stripping them with an allen key? Would love a pointer to a good tool for the job so I don't make a mess.

Just buy the proper Allen wrench. Or a whole set of them if you don’t have any. It’s the only way. Don’t wreck the screws trying to use the wrong tool.

Edit: On my Tardis, the screws for the the top cover are 5/64 th’s. Which is virtually the same as 2mm.

Thanks Bill.

Andy Finn, the guy responsible for all the past graphics (Monique, Paycheck et al) is coming up with graphics for the ongoing Rack and Tardis (700s and 500s included). The effort is to investigate moving to this chassis soon. Same design made to fit these new face plates. These come from Par-Metal in New Jersey. The reception has been very good.

View attachment 3006267 Well, it’s been a while since I’ve had Monique out. Seems like all my gigs have been IEM lately, but today bourbon country got to hear some big fat punchy tone. Smiles all around! Not a NASA pic but another way to get “high” perhaps?
Not a bad way at all. :)

Very nice but nothing wrong with taking Monique out just for IEM gigs too. That is all I do lately, IEM gigs, and Monique is still my date!

Yes, I immediately started re-thinking my IEM gig signal chain. If only Jule had a preamp/DI solution without the power amp built in. :) I might see something shrouded in bamboo in my future.

Thanks Bill.

Power amp looks great with the raised flux capacitor thingy.

Hi @juledude!

It's festival season. ;)

It's festival season! This weekend it was DiscJam mainstage, next week it's Ziontific 8. :) So many nice words from other musicians and music fans on how good this setup sounds, both on stage and out front. :)

For those playing along at home, this is a 2500 rack that's not breaking a sweat on a large outdoor stage turned up less than 1/3rd of the way.

Any updates on the Simone?
Still a work in progress.
