Jule Amps Monique part 5

Flux Capacitor. :):)!!!

That explains a whole lot.
Always will be a favorite flic. And theme song. Buckaroo Banzai (for those sorely too young :)).

Due to continued FB annoyance I may be closing the Monique group there. You are all invited to post in the "Monique for Bass" group at mewe.com. mewe.com/join/monique_for_bass

Hey guys/girls......can any go you tell me how hard, or soft, the M500 mono block amp hits when compared to other 500w micro heads. I'm extremely familiar with the Aguilar TH500. I've been running a TH500 for the last several years. With that being said, I know how loud this amp can get. It's often touted as being under-rated as many players seem to think this amp "sounds" more like a 700w-800w amp. I've never needed power with this amp. I recently picked up a Noble pre/DI. The Noble is on my pedal board. It is my IEM rig. I planned on using my TH500 for gigs when I needed a cab. However, as of lately I am looking at purchasing a separate mono block power amp to use should I ever want to power the Noble instead of the TH500. I'm thinking the TH500 might be moved to my back up, home use, practice amp. So what say you about the M500.

Right now, I'm waiting (New Product) for the last bit of parts for something that might work well for you. The idea is to have a pedal sized 500 watt amp. This amp is another Hypex product, therefore extremely quick, and extremely well defined. History has not been established yet but I expect it to be as robust as all the other Hypex Amps.

My guess it that the M-Series format may be a bit big physically for what you describe. It is a 12"x12" box.

If you are concerned the Hypex 500 watts may be too much for your situation, I think that concern is valid. We have all gotten used to amps with grossly over-stated power output. So when we come across one that truly delivers the stated rating, it can be a bit startling. . . or fun.

Maybe I should have clarified my previous post more......I am not looking for a pedal board mounted power amp. In fact, quite the opposite......I would like the power amp to sit on my cab. So a "desktop" power amp is what I'm after. Even though I would like the size and form factor of an uber small power amp, I would worry that it could bounce/vibrate off a cab during a performance. So in reality, there is a balancing point to be had between something being truly micro, but yet still functional. A 12x12 box is doable. I don't find the 500W of the TH500 to be over-rated. I think Aguilar's rating of that amplifier is what a 500W truly should sound like -and/or- is on par with what other manufactures are claiming to be 700+watts. Since this is the amp I have been using for the last several years. I am extremely familiar with it's version of 500 watts. I cant see myself need more or less power than what this amp produces. I am hoping to get some real world feedback on how your 500 compares to Aguilar's 500. Perhaps your M500 is tad too new for enough users to have any real world experience yet. All in good time I guess.

Very good. Thanks for the clarification.
Yes. The M500 is still new. And I haven't done anything to get the word out. I am grateful to be as busy as I am.

Got to see and hear Link Removed Jule based rig last night -- fantastic sounding bass rig (and bass player!). And a great band! That 2500 was just idling... Fun night; can't wait to see them again. Sorry for the poor quality phone pics, but here's the rig in the wild:

Thanks for coming out! It was great to meet you and have some moments to talk. Nice to speak with another fan of Jule's work. Last night we ended up using a shared backline (due to situational scheduling) and I ended up on an Aguilar 610 and missed my cabs...luckily knew my Monique was in the FOH, but man, I missed being able to hear it well! Feast and famine, opening night of Ithaca Reggae Fest made for a sold out show.

Hello everyone. I just want to toss something out there. I'm now repping for Jule. I'm located in New Jersey. So, if any locals on this forum ever have the desire to demo, and see what the raves are all about, please feel free to reach out to me. We can set something up. You are also welcome to reach out, should you have any questions. Thanks.

Mark

Good to have somewhere to go and actually feel the thing. Thanks Mark.

Hey @juledude , hope you're mending well.

Any sign of a Simone or whatever you've been working on? I've got an out-of-US pickup fly-gig at the end of August and can't carry and basses, amps, etc. Would be cool to have something I could pack and count on good tone. :)
