Jule Amps Monique part 5

Yup. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
The beautiful Drums in the pictures are made by Jefferson Shallenberger of Sugar Percussion. The Jule Amps shop is in the same building as Sugar Percussion and I think they make a nice background.

I got my Monique the other day! Definitely enjoying it. Potentially re-thinking some of my effects signal chain because Monique sounds so good on her own...

Kudos, @juledude, this will be staying with me for a looooong time!

I'll be keeping a weather eye on the classifieds to see if I can snag an M2500. If I can't find one I may eventually order a new one. Potentially a rack M2500 like the supremely cool @BurningSkies has!

Do you follow the Monique page/Jule Amps stuff on FB? sometimes when stuff comes up, it gets posted there.

Thank you.

You know, I've always (due to fat fingers) thought smaller knobs for the Line Out and Sensitivity would be a good idea on those Bamboo Moniques. Every time I try alternatives I think they aren't nearly attractive enough.

Sure is a pretty beast IMHO.

Here's a quick little video of my Monique m700 Greenboy 121261 during a Queen tribute show that my band did earlier this year. The audio is a LR out from the soundboard. Signal chain is 2012 Fender American Fsr pbass straight into the Monique, di to the soundboard. Hope you guys enjoy.

Thank you. Excellent sound. And of course outstanding bass.

I'm curious: any real world reports using the M500 yet, and if so, with what cab(s)? (If there are any separate threads, or discussions on this thread, I apologize -- my search only came up with a lot of pre-release conversations.) I talked with Jule briefly the other day about some questions I had before purchasing a classifieds used DC, and he certainly spoke highly of the M500. Thanks!

@juledude , have any of these made it out to testers?

As far as I know none are in any hands that I've seen in the wild .

I see -- I figured they were shipping at this point, since they're available to add-to-cart in the Jule Shop (and Jule asked if I'd thought about one vs an M700, with such a large price point difference; which I hadn't but now am... :)).

BTW: still hope to catch your band sometime this year; keeping an eye on your schedule.

That pricepoint is really nice! I pretty much saw the finished product when Jule shared it on Facebook a week or so ago, although I knew it was in the works. I'm surprised he got it on the page so quickly. You could be one of the first!

Yeah, Rochester. We're doing 5/3 as the 'middle' set in the Salt City Shakedown Tour (Sophistafunk/Root Shock/Skunk City) at Funk Music Hall, and we'll be back there on 6/21 with Buddha Council opening for us. I also have a big hold on our calendar for all of Lilac Festival, but I don't see a confirmed date yet.

I'm working the night of the 3rd so that's out, but Lilac festival might work depending on when you play in the May 11 - May 20 festival timeframe (haven't gone in years; would be a reason to go this year); the 21st of June might work too. Would like to see your band, and also to see your rig, with the Monique (to keep this on topic...), in action!

Nope. The most exposure the M500 has seen is at the NAMM Show. Not the best place to get a "quiet" listen. The M500 did get a lot of playing time there. Results in the shop with (accomplished) neighborhood players have been good, but there have been no magazine reviews. The M500 is very new. Just got the final graphics last week. I am supposed to work on a press release this week.

Every Jule Amps product has been released the same way. Gets built. Wandering minstrel or two gives it a whack and then word just seems to get out. I am a firm believer that amid the din of superlatives that is the Music Industry, if something good does happen to get built, people find out about it in spite of the noise.

Digression: Making music really is a people business. People here on Talkbass and people around the world have treated me and my work with kindness way beyond what I could expect or imagine. I am immensely grateful. Without you good folk I'd just be a cranky dude mumbling invective in an incense clouded shop.

I tried it, and also heard quite a few people playing through it. Sounded great to me, but since it was in that wild biamped dual sub rig it was a little hard to interpolate how the play feel would be as a standalone piece.

If we can make it work, I'm happy to put a bass in your hands and let you take a tour of the whole setup. :)

Again Bill, you have started a trend. I am grateful. Thank you.

At the urging of several good folk (I suspect they saw and heard you and your 2500) I am now putting the 700 watt or the 500 watt into the same 2U Rack Mount chassis.

Nice! Even Bill Bodily kindly came out last local show and paid a visit...and braved the hippies. I don't know that he's really let his 2500 rip yet. ;) But kind of cool that there are two of them within 25 miles of each other.

I'm totally happy to meet up with anyone at a gig and let them check out your work. It's easy to want to share when I love the Monique and M2500 so much as it is. I have an open offer to anyone who wants to check out my stage setup, bass, etc. And given schedule/time & setting if it's permissible to let people plug in and have at.

Mostly east coast these days, but if people are curious, let me know (We're doing VA, OBX, NYC, CT,MA, etc. in April).

I understand that the Dovecage works for lots but from the beginning, I was one of those guys saying I wanted a Mo' but not until it was in a rack. It made sense to me back in 2012 and now makes even more sense.

I hope I didn't just make for more pain-in-the-@ss work for you Jule and that it's a good thing.
