What a great spot for that outdoor gig!!

Yeah, that's a fun one. Here locally, but they shut down one side of town and put up a bunch of stages. This is one of the two main-stages. Two years running we've had something like 3000+ of our friends show up for it. Our local draw for theater-club rooms is somewhere in the 500+ range these days, but this is a free outdoor thing, so everyone is around. Also, I made a slight edibles miscalculation (having played in Vermont the night before)...and something took 6 hours to metabolize and right around an hour to stage time I was basically non-functional. I snapped out of it quickly though, but it was definitely a reminder to be mindful of that stuff. Either way, it wasn't noticeable except I was moving a bit more than normal on stage.

The second picture is at something like 2:30am at the Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg NY. We had the set after Donna the Buffalo, and it was pouring rain. The 'fog' you're seeing is due to the wet conditions, hot weather and sheer humidity. We're looking forward to doing Grassroots Shakori Hills in NC in the Fall, and possibly Grassroots Miami in the Spring.

I'm hoping my Monique Bamboo sells in the near future on here - I've really got the itch to get a rack Monique. The rack form factor works better for me. The 2500 is a "someday" pairing.

@BurningSkies - do you use any surge-suppressor or power conditioner with your pair of Jule rack units? We don't need to get into the full conversation on that, I'm just curious about your rig.

Right now Bamboo Monique lead times (after current production) will be about three months, so I do not expect you to have to wait too long. Good luck.

***also, venues that don't look at our tech and see that we're requesting a few 20amp fuses for our stage setup...don't be surprised when we end up having a blackout. We've shut down more than a couple venues mid-song in our travels. I can usually tell the type of places it'll happen, but there's still some surprises. And we do place bets on that occurrence when we walk into some rooms.

Yes. I would not expect power conditioning to be required of any of the amps (500, 700, 2500) and never for Monique. The amps operate with their own massive supply. The available reservoir of power is significantly greater than in any other Class D amp I have heard of. Current is another thing.

With the 500 and 700, we can get by with 10 amps, but the 2500 needs the 20 amps of current Bill mentioned if you are going to open it up. And ain't that the purpose? Think about putting three microwave ovens (they are often about 1000 watts) in just about any one outlet at home and turn them all on at once. In most homes the breaker would go - lights out.

Power conditioning is another thing entirely. Jule Amps gear is not that fussy.

I have a M2500 for sale, not that it is not an amazingly beautiful tone machine, just too much power for me. If anyone is interested let me know.

This might be the best mixed pile of stuff I’ve ever heard (had).
Controllable, strong mids for days.
Bottom depth like a sinkhole.

Beautiful sweet highs like nothing I’ve heard.


Al the individual components are great but the Mo700 is the cream in my Oreo.

Wow, that's an interesting stack -- looks like the Monique is sitting atop an Audiokinesis Hathor 1203 (I have one -- great little cab) or AK Changeling 1233, which itself is sitting atop a Barefaced cab (don't know which).

It’s a BBII. It has the extended highs and lows while the 1203 fills out all those delicious mids. EQ on the amp is flat with Sens up and Line Level pulled out. Super warm with tons of articulation. Fat but clear as a bell. The combo really shines with the DW Z3 (more-so than with a P bass and flats). I’ve gotta give this a go on an upcoming gig.

That IS weird! Did you have it with your big bowl of cheerios and milk? Even that is a real long time for milk to block absorption. Maybe it was enterically coated?

Nah. Empty stomach besides coffee and water. But you know...weirdness. Either way, I put my Jule Amps rack up on top of the 810 that was backlined and concentrated really hard on remembering the songs I've played for 7 years. I'm a guy who doesn't even have a beer on stage normally.

I just love the bamboo and bird cage embodiments. My plain Jane tardis is eminently practical and sounds just as awesome. But those housings are just so freakin' cool!

Yeah, but this is the trade-off. If you have a setup where you can have an extensive custom road case for the 'cages' or if you are doing all local 'carry it seatbelted in the back of my Toyota Camry' level stuff, it works. If you're anyone in between those two racking a box is WAY easier and more secure.

A question for u guys. I just bought a monique and i read the manual re hooking it up to a power amp. It says a quality instrument cable will be fine. So that just means any good ts 1/4" cable? I dont need a trs cable? I usually hook my preamp out xlr to the preamp in on my power amp(crest prolite 3.0) but the manual for the monique suggest using the 1/4" out for that not the xlr. Just wana make sure i got the right cables to hook her up when she gets here Thursday

I've used both, I've found no difference between. I think I have a TRS right now, but not for any good specific reason.

Yas, it will do down to 2ohms, but there's no real gain in doing it as you see from the numbers. I just looked on the hypex site to make sure I wasn't misforgetting the specs. So if you have 2x4ohm cabs, gopher it, but otherwise, 2x 8ohm cabs would serve you better for headroom...

...but the reality is that this amp is such an effing beast that 2000 at 2ohms certainly would be more than enough. Please wemember that those wattage quotes are 'Wrms'...not peak or burst or fairywatts. So, be careful not to have your speakers vomit out their secret inner-workings.

I'd only be adding a 3rd 8ohm cab to my current pair on occasions where I need more volume. Sometimes I feel like I'm pushing the cabs to their limits and really need more speakers.

If I decide to "upgrade" and change what I have now I may end up with a pair of 4 ohm cabs, or something that adds up to a 2 ohm load when I'm running all of it at the same time.
