I'm with Hategear. hehe, I know someone that has a mispelt tatoo, it says something in welsh, can't remember what and it's spelt wrong. He's kinda embaressed about it but he jokes about it a lot.

In response to the comment that all tattoos mean something: It's not always true. People get tattoos for all sorts of reasons and sometimes, a tattoo is just a tattoo. Other times, a tattoo might mean something to the owner, but they choose not to share that meaning with the "Nosy Nates" of the world. I have been criticized for having tattoos that don't mean anything, when the reality of it is, I simply choose not to share their meaning(s) with strangers in a grocery store line. If you are one of these people that tells someone to their face that they shouldn't have a tattoo if they don't know what it means, stop it. You are playing Russian roulette and someday, you are going to get a good, solid punch in the mush.
One other thing I'd like to say is, it's extremely impolite and rude to tell someone their tattoo sucks, or looks like s**t, or that, "It's a heart, but it looks more like a pair of butt cheeks!" It's a permanent mark on their body and little can be done to change it if it doesn't come out right. Pointing out a flaw is very, very poor taste. Have some tact.
Congrats on the new ink, darkspec. I too like the posedown!
i like to see the kids getting the tribal art tattoos and ask them what tribe the designs came from. gets em all confused. all my tats have meaning, a story behind them. i don't get em just to have em. but that's just me
Actually, I wasn't referring to your comments, Acacia. And maybe this is a bit hypocritical of me to say, after what I just posted, but I agree with you about the tribal and arm band tats -- they are way overdone and way too trendy. In fact, the only tattoo that I regret having is my barbed wire tat. If I'd have known that every Joe and his sister were gonna have to have barbed wire around their arms, I'd have come up with something else (I got my wire back in 1992).Originally posted by Acacia
...if you're referring to what i said...

A friend of mine has one that's supposedly the Chinese symbol for Matthew, his son's name. I mean, how does he know it's not the Chinese symbol for '******* With a Tattoo?'

When I was sitting waiting for the Zappa Tattoo to be done, a hottie sorority chick walked in to get some ink. She mentioned my kanji tattoo, and said that it was like the one she was getting. I said, "Oh? What are you thinking of having done?"
She showed me a FRIKKIN' CHINESE MENU and showed me the symbol she wanted. It was the symbol for "Beef."I told her this, and I said, "Tell me what you want, and I'll show you how to draw it." She didn't trust me--I guess the kanji book sitting next to me meant I didn't know what I was talking about. She said it didn't matter since none of her friends would know what it meant, anyway.
So, she went and got the kanji for "Beef" tattooed on her bikini line. The irony was not lost on me. Oddly enough, she didn't seem as hot, anymore, either.

I personally don't like or recommend tattoos (how cool will they be when you're older and sitting in an important job interview for example), but if I were to get one it would have to have some lasting meaning to me. A bass clef is one rare example of something I could actually want. If I could take it off later, that is. They are just too permanent for me.
