I think I'm gonna nix that idea. Not worth the effort I think. I'd rather trade or sell to get a lined one. Plus, it would tie up Carl when he could be filling LOG member orders!![]()
thoughtful of you Xavier!!!! thanks

I considered "whiny", but I couldn't imagine that being a good tone!not "winny" like a horse...whiney.....whining.....you know....oh forget it!!!![]()
A what? Dang, I need a Rosetta Stone for you and Markus!![]()
Going to the studio Thursday night for a friend's solo project (singer/songwriter) - taking the DJ4 and my Dingwall! I hope the studio has some nice DIs and toys to play with.
On a side note, I setup both 4-94 fretless and DJ4 to Laklands factory specs. The 4-94 fretless actually has a tiny bit of back bow and I have the action as low as you can go. It's instant mwuahhhh. The DJ4 needed some forward bow and the saddles had to go up. Thanks Sam Ash.
i gonna see them in sept, cant wait!!!

Not sure. Mattyg suggested it to me referring to a conversation he had with Carl and Dan. On my 4-94, the fingerboard was flat to start with, I dropped it a tiny bit more and lowered the saddles. When I checked the relief with a straight edge, as Carl suggests, it actually rocked back and forth over the "6th" fret: back bow.
yeh - nice sig....you are going to make me even MORE famous....(OR GET ME KICKED OFF!)

Interesting! I'll going to call Carl and see if he suggests it for my fretless! Make sense!
hehehehehe.
didn't that come up in the q&a session at the GTG?
you ruined it!!!!!
As I said previously...the place is GREAT!
the "new" neck will have a different serial number - UNLESS he gets lines put on the same neck....which I am not sure they can/will do....BTW - putting the wood lines in ins a long, laboreous process....I asked Carl about it once.....I would not have the patience!!!
very slight amount of backbow will give you tons of mwah, too much and your strings wont vibrate.
I usually give my basses a lady's name. There's been Tracy (JO26), Anya (Fretless JO), and Ivy (Glaub).
I agree, the DJ is at its best raw--no preamp needed!Glad it's working out for you.
