Looks good, I'm glad you got a Classic, I can't stand the other Markbass cabs. Those orange/yellow cones are a bit too poxy for my liking.
I hope I'm not alone in this. Also I hope I havn't offended anyone by saying this, lol.

It was brought up in the previous thread, but, regarding a Chi-Sonic P style pickup, does anyone know what is stopping Lakland's head honchos from producing one?
blondmix3 said that the current P has similar technology, but the Chi's have a very unique look (which I like), and a P with the Chi look would be hawt.

Hmmm...the list price of a passive 4-string Decade with 'buckers should be $4600, based on Lakland's price list--that's the midpoint of a passive one with singles and an active one with 'buckers. Also, on other models, the difference between a 4 and a 5 is $400 list--so the list for what you want should be $5k, and street is typically 30% off. So, $3500, although a dealer might get you a significantly better price.

Thankfully I've NOT blown my house down w/ my 2 CHI'd basses: the Decade 5er proto (currently sporting the fretless neck w/ MTD nickels
) and S.C. . And, most of my home projects are "mostly" finished hehehe... it's been hard to keep up since the band's doing well and all . Been learning some covers for a 3hr gig that's coming up. MAN, some of Deleo's STP lines are tricky to figure out by ear, and most basstab sites are iffy at best I've noticed.Check this out... I figured out Velvet Revolver's Slither the other day. Playing it on my F****r Hot Rod tuned DADG (w/ my D-tuner flipped), actually I'll be using this bass w/ the series switch engaged for most of the covers except the Audioslave songs that need low B. Sorry, but it's my best 4 banger. Wish I'd been able to grab that 35" scale (?4-76?) that Leo had (?has?) for sale recently....
Anyways, I've always said that I can't play w/ a pick. Well, that's because I had always played 5s and 6ers. I grabbed a pick and BAM, not a problem on the 4 string, especially on simple stuff like V Revolver, Shinedown, etc
. Of course I have to use the left hand thumb wraparound mute guitard technique, when I jump to the A string (only need the E w/ D-tuner and A for most of these covers 
'cept the STP stuff). Now, alls I gotta do is lengthen my strap, get some shades and a cowboy hat, a cig, lose the shirt and FULLY de-evolve to a bass guitardist LOL. No offense if this is you

We don't put our thumbs over the neck to mute, we just hold the neck that way. Also, you should learn to mute the lower strings with your palm whilst you are playing the higher strings and vis versa. That is the difference between poor and proper pick technique.

I can do the palm muting thing when I'm only playing the E and A, but I have difficulty when I need to mute multiple strings. I noticed that I was laying my ring and pinky fingers on the A when I decided to improv on the D string... is that part of the palm muting technique? It worked
. Unwanted string hum is my pet peeve, and the reason I use the floating thumb technique while finger plucking. I've tried picking many times over the last 20 yrs, and always give up due to unwanted hum.
I think that as long as I'm playing covers w/ a 4 string, I can get it working for me.
That could be....the box mine waqs shipped in was labeled DJ5 LPB. Beaver said they open all the basses prior to shipping plug them in and make sure everything works on them. Maybe they throw them in when they do that.
Once I get the bass in my possession, a new BWB P/G will be installed. No problems there!
there is no cure for Gas. Although lakland has cured my gas for other brands....it increased my gas for more laklands.
Good question. Let's open that up to everyone who plays at church. What basses to take with you on a sunday morning? I usually take my BG4 and my 55-02. I do not want to have all of them up on the stage with me...but I think I will probably add my new fretless as well. So three basses.
