Awesome Josep! Love that color!

Sure, it's the famous Metallic Teal Green AKA "Lakland Greenfly finish" :D

Ahhh. By the way, who is the new contact over at Lakland to talk to about getting some repairs done? Brian?

I really think something is a little odd with my electronics on the HB and the single-coil mode...
I would try both Brian and Leo.

My Skyline HB with Dark Stars ain't goin' anywhere.:)

Ok, whew! I knew I couldn't be the only one :)

I would try both Brian and Leo.

Sweet, thanks! Single-coil mode when the neck pickup is selected seems fine, but when both or just the bridge pickup are selected, there's no change in tone. And an audible POP when I select the neck pickup.

Also, the volume pots seem to be all-or-nothing if both are selected. That is, if I have both on full, both selected, and then ease off slightly on the neck pickup volume, its like I've got just the bridge selected via the 3-way.

Some more pics I took this mornin', I'll hope you'll enjoy Lakland addicts ;D

I can't decide if those liik like breath mints or the ultimate surf-rock combo...

Yeah...traded it for BG5 #1. There are a few others floating around this thread.

Wow, nice trade. I'd have done the same in a Monréal minute...

Nope ... there's my skyline CAR fretless, too :)

OH man!!! GAS again....Like I always say...HBs (especially fretless ones!) are so hawt! they always 'slip out of the mind" and then - just when the coast is clear - WAMMO! a picture shows up and the GAS meter goes to 12!

I just gotta buy one someday and f'get about it!

I wish they made 5ers but alas, that will never happen! BUT JP does like gretch orange!

hmmm..."that is the way a J is supposed to sound"? NOT!

Fret level for $250? uh.....next time send it to Carl at Chicagobassdoctor. even with shipping it SHOULD be less than that! the price for the pre sounds cheaper but the install seems pricey....

overall...you like it now?

I've considered sending it to Carl more than a few times, but the long distance kept scaring me. I had suspicions that the month-long shipping time when buying the bass from Florida was what messed it up in the first place...

I also contacted the new owners of Lakland about this issue, and they said my warranty couldn't cover the problem, so I basically thought "screw it" and decided to get to know a local tech in SF.

And with the aggressive slapping I tend to do with this heavy-ash bass, I decided to "max it out" by giving it a preamp, too. I guess I AM finally happy with this thing, but it seems there truly is no cure for GAS. :smug: (I can't believe I'm still looking for new places to blow my money on...)
The playability is SPOT ON now, though. Where two other techs had failed, mine took a quick look down the neck and spotted a ski-ramp hump.

But yeah, the prices are definitely extremely high, and there WAS that whole ridiculousissue with the wiring, but they sent me a hundred bucks for my troubles.
