NGD! Gonna play the new (to me) 55-02 in church today. Never played for God before, hope He doesnt mind if I screw up a few notes...

Been playing bass in church for 10 years. And I'm a theology student, so hear me when I say:

KARMA AIN'T GOT NO HOME IN THIS RELIGION, BUDDY!

And you can't have screwed up as badly as I did this morning: bass intro (fast 12-bar blues) to the children's song. And I forgot the tempo. And the key signature. And the chords. Had the whole band looking at me and the drummer (my brother) and the minister (who also wrote the song, though he wasn't playing this morning) exchanged a glance and laughed as they heard me fudge my way through some wierd walkthroughs until finally I got my act together and managed to get the congregation in on the right beat and right key. I just wanted to die, though - ever tried modulating from Emaj to Amaj with 200 people watching you and no-one else playing?

My Darryl Jones sounds absolutely KILLER, though - although this was one of those times (we all have them) where you wish the notes were muffled and indistinct.

I play direct through the PA, by the way: 6000 watts, two 18inch subs, four 15 inch mains, and six 12 inch wedges. heehee.

Don't expect the lightning. Just the occasional personal "please God take me now and give me a harp to play" moments...

Cheers, SoundSupport

Hilarious!

But, how can you possibly hear yourself through such a tiny setup ;-D.

BTW, on the "harp in heaven" thing - I forgot to say - a LAKLAND harp, natch.

quick google search tells me that a concert harp has 47 strings, so it would be a Lakland 4772-θ!

Where
47 = number of strings,
72 = scale (concert harps are 6ft tall, can't find string length)
and
θ = greek letter Theta, first letter of Theos (God), signifiying the model year is in eternity.

I'm paying a lot for this education, I'm determined not to waste it...:D

Brain....we will have to talk about the P retro....I was thinking about one myself....like data before I spend the coin!

Anytime you know how to get in touch. I think you might really like it though. You know when you just want a little more oomph? It's got a nice bass boost that just tosses in that little more to make it nice and boomy, great for country. Also has a brightness dip switch inside and you can also play around with the mids via dip switches as well.

Since Tat2dheart started it, I gotta show my kids-n-laklands...

Randy, good to see you posting! Keep rockin' that awesome and very rare Scheff.

Oh man, my girlfriend and I love that show! Have you listened to the music of Unknown Hinson (the voice of Early)? Hilarious stuff. We've seen him live, he's a monster guitar player.

Not yet, I just discovered the 'toon a couple weeks ago when I was up late one night. Since then, I've been watching it "on demand" and on youtube. I plan on buying a DVD set asap.

Someone else told me that Early's voice was a real singer. I'll have to watch some Unknown Hinson stuff! Thanks!
