Thanks. The sound is much fatter than my P bass that has Fralins. Also very even across the board. And the neck is very smooth and fast. Looking forward to rehearsals and 2 gigs next week.

So I've been GASing hard to get my hands on a US Glaub over the past month or so. I've owned a few in my life, and always regret trading or selling them away. Something about a US Lakland just feels "right" to me, more so than anything else I've played.
So... after scouring the intra-webs for several weeks ... I found this. I thought we could enjoy together.

Wow, the first one apparently and looks in great shape. The one they just made for me is BG706.

The current strings I do think are LaBella's. I'm not sure of that either. Just got it today so I'm stoked still. My preference of flats are Thomastik's. It took a while to get used to how "soft/loose" they felt. But now that I'm used to them, it's tough to go back to stiffer gauges.
I usually use the TI flats too. But I had a set of 105 45 LaBellas hanging around so I put them on first. They sound great ecept the E string has a little less overtone than the others. So I'll be experimenting with others or going back to TIs.

Dayummmm!!!!! Nice grab! Whats the history on this one? How many owners? 1,75" neck?
No idea how many people may have owned it. From what I understand, it was Bob Glaub's original Lakland that was eventually given to Andrew Gold. It has a 1.5" neck. I can say that it's got mojo for days and is instantly my new no.1 player.
Cool! BG02 recently passed through the classifieds here - 1.5 neck.

Haven't been here in years, but life got in the way - marriage, baby, studying to become a baptist pastor, y'know, the usual sorta thing...
Still the proud owner of a 2008 Skyline DJ4 - one of the very last ones made in Korea.
Now playing it through an Eden WTDI box (which is immense), and an Ashdown Toneman 300 head into a 410T cabinet. I use Klotz LaGrange cables.
Since strings keep being mentioned here, I'm pretty surprised to see that the originals don't seem to get a look in: Rotosound Swing Bass 66 stainless steel Roundwounds (mine are hybrid gauge: 40.60.80.100)
Sounds pretty nice.
@basspraiser, can you hunt out my LOG number?
Looking to double my Lakland collection sometime in the near future. Can anyone tell me, are Lakland still doing the Honeyburst on the Skyline 55-02s? And how do you go about getting a fretless neck on them? I've seen some with the Skyline logo on the headstock, but I've never seen one for sale!
