Lets Buy A Wish Part II

Dependent on weather, I can (and very well might) fly up there to Addison or some other airport. I am starting my IFR training later this month, and I need 50 hours XC time, that trip should knock out almost 6 hours. Depends on when the WishBeasty shows up on my doorstep.

Thats what happens when folks decide to stop communicating. It would have only taken one post to set everyone at ease, but after repeated attempts to get a reponse, and getting nothing, people will jump to their own conclusions.

Keep up communication, and people wont need to draw their own conclusions hehe.

I think we were all just really puzzled over the whole thing. I'm glad it was resolved with out anyone getting too upset.


BTW today is Jaco's birthday (December 1st).

Many thanks to Bassic83 for getting this moving again. I was beginning to think that the only way I'd ever get to experience a Wish would be to buy one myself and hope I could get something back for it if it lived up to it's reputation...

And as for AJ, I'm glad I held back and didn't post anything negative about the whole thing, but I appologize for some of the things I was picturing in my mind. Hope things work out for you.

He's a mite embarassed by all of this...I let him know there is no shame in asking for help, or grabbing the lifeline when it's tossed your way. He's really having a bad time right now. I'm alive (unfortunatly) .. I didn't want to be 'That Guy' like the last person that ruined the Buy a Wish project. But I seriously just ran out of money. I'm like giving golf lessons and doing random house painting jobs with my friend for extra cash just to eat and pay bills. The Wish was the last thing on my mind. I played it, packed it, and just never had the cash to send it, and kinda forgot with all the work I'm trying to do to keep ahead.

I am soooo sorry, and am so embarrased for all of this to keep everyone pissed off, and waiting. I will try to get it out by next week with the help of Bassic. I don't know how many times to apologize. But again, I am sorry.

Hasn't arrived yet- I hope AJ dropped it at the UPS store. He gave me an amount that it would cost, and then I sent him a little more than what he requested- just in case. He emailed me saying that the monies arrived, he couldn't make it to the UPS store that day because he got off work after they closed. Said it was all boxed up and ready to go. He's sending it UPS ground. I've sent him an email requesting the tracking number, but I haven't heard back yet (I sent that email Sat. nite, late). I expect I'll hear from him today. If not, it's possible it's on it's way to me and I'll get it when it shows up. UPS is busy right now, so it may take an extra day or two. AJ got the money I sent him on Thursday, I think. He probably cashed it Friday or maybe Sat...if so, it should be on its way by now, or he should ship today. I'll let y'all know.

Just FYI, if UPS misses their deadline on delivery, you can get refunded the full shipping costs too, so check into it

Holidays are no excuse for them not to honer their shipping times, which works out well for the consumers hehe.

Whoa! I pretty much slaked off on reading these Wish II posts over the past few weeks as the thread was becoming so voluminous. I was shocked to see the recent problems with this thing being stuck in FLA. Kind of highlights how much things can break down when trust is violated. I wish you all luck (no pun intended) recovering it.

So I don't know if this is an inapproriate plug (if it is I am sure the mods will correct me soon enough) but since there were so many positive reviews of the wishbass, I thought I would make you all aware that I have posted my own 7-string wish on the classifieds here at TB. I had a buyer that just recently reneged due to finances so it is still available.

It's a pretty well known bass actually-- it is the rainbow pictured in the Bass PLayer Magazine ad wish had been running for a long time ( up through a couple of issues ago). I bought the bass last year, but wish kept running the ad. He clearly spent a lot of time on it, I am guessing because of its high profile. Truly is a great instrument, let alone a great wishbass, and worthy of looking at if you are a wish fan.
