Would I still be able to get in on this or is my state bypassed already? (Massachusetts)
I'm interested if it gets near Boston.
By the by, I was e-mailing with Mr. Wish, and he says that the Talkbass folk still owe him over $100.
I don't know if it was this thread, or the old one, but that's really crappy to have him be helpful in providing a bass and then stiff him the cash.

I'm fairly certain it was the other one. I believe Coffee-Sipper gave him either cash or a check for the full amount, and drove to Wish's shop to get it. Coffee-Sipper, could you please confirm this?

I got the bass today and made quite a mess unpacking it...
Its neck is very uncomfortable and the headstock is quite chunky...

I don't have a big desire to play this bass (okay, maybe for said $10) but...
I just wanted to say this is easily one of the coolest threads I've ever read! And I read ALL OF IT!
It had everything! Drama, humor, the threat of violence
, sadness, let down, hope, villains who weren't really what they seemed, impersonators...what else do you need?!
Thoroughly cool. If there was ever an "MM copy bass go-round" or some sort of bass like even remotely something I'd play, I'd be in on it. I'd even organize it if I had to. And since it probably wouldn't be made from any exotic type wood, it would definitely get all the TB'ers signatures and/or band stickers!
Anyway, great thread...keep it going. Yes, this was a meaningless post to everyone but me. I just had to compliment everyone involved, with extra kudos to the original organizer Coffee-sipper and the one who put in the super human effort to get the bass back from the depths of darkness, Bassic83. This is what TB is all about!

Hey everybody! It looks like it's my turn now. Well, I'll post my thoughts on it once I get my hands on it. However, because I was moving when this thread started, I requested to be the last one. If it is still the case, the question is what to do next with this bass? Handle it over to the first "let's get the wish" thread participants? Sell it to anyone who wants it and give the money to charity or talkbass.com? If it is unclear what to do once I am dine with it, I'll send it to the person who started it all, to Raleigh, NC.

Hi again,
Today I received the wishbass. It looks like finally it has made it's way to the last person on the list. Everyone involved can now take pride in having proved my wife wrong who predicted that I would't ever see it.
I won't repeat what other people said about the construction, abundant inadequacies and other lousy aspects of this bass. Unfortunately I have to agree with all that.
The sound is really nice at low levels, but the louder you play the worse it gets. I plugged it into a Vox T-25 practice amp, which actually delivers a very clear and even sound and it had a very nice mhaw, but you could hardly call it "rich" or "sophisticated". It is very basic. Very young, unexperienced and confused mhaw Of course there is always a possibility that I simpy need to adjust to this instrument.
After having played with it for a little while I am still very perplexed with the playability issues of this less than stellar creation of Mr. Wishnevsky. Maybe there are people who like telegraph-pole sized necks, but I am definitely not one of them. I have relatively large hands, but this neck is simply out of proportion. It it very uncomfortable. And the third octave is just for show. It kind of reminds me of a movie "This is spinal tap" where a guitar player had an amp, which had 11 markers on volume control, as opposed to sandard 10.
I have always thought, that my first bass - an italian no-name -, that I started learning on was undoubtidely the worst bass I have ever laid my hands on. This wishbass made me rethink my theory.
I am sorry for being so critical, I'm just sharing my first impressions. Maybe they will change when I play it for a little longer. But so far it simply made me appreciate more my other basses.
However, all this experience and adventure of this thread was definitelly worth 10 bucks. It was fun! And enlightenig as well - at least I know one brand to avoid at all costs
I won't keep this bass for a week, and as I still have not heard any responses as to what to do with it, I'll simply ship it back to coffee-sipper. I'll do so whenever I catch a free moment to go by the UPS store.
So that's it for the moment.

I love it! Full circle! Everyone else on the boards never thought it would get this far. Actually, for a while, I had my doubts as well! This restores my faith in humanity! Well, maybe not... 
yes...i gotta say, this wishbass thing was a good idea...i found out that i am one of the few who actually liked the thing!

I was just doign a search for opinions on these things (instead of posting blindly about it) and I innocently clicked on this thread when it came up. Being in Raleigh, I was interested in the quality of the Wish basses, same as I was in the DP's before, just because I'm fairly close to the source.
You guys performed a great service to bass players on a budget everywhere. With all the problems encountered with this bass, I shudder to think of what a fretted model would do to my hands.
