Let's spread some musical misinformation

Bass Tip of the day. The winter weather can be harsh on your bass going from your warm cozy house into the cold car really can shock to the wood. Don't you wish there is a better way to get your bass acclimated to the cold? Well there is, and all you need is something most of us already have or for very little investment can purchase a Freezer! Wow you say why didn't I think of that, well that is what I am here for. The best is the chest style, but the others with the racks removed work as well :) just place your basses that you are going to use for that show in the freezer overnight and remember to remove them from their cases so they can reach the proper temperature. When it is time to load up, the basses will not be affected at all by the cold thanks to this little simple Bass tip of the day. :)

Bonus option: Put some beer cans in the freezer with the bass so it gets used to the smell and taste. So when you get to the gig, the bass won't be affected as much by the moisture from spilled drinks.

Bass tip of the day: Don't you just hate that when your bass amp starts to crank up some great tone next thing you know your drink is pouring down your amp! Well fret not bass dudes we have a solution shrink wrap you amp that's right it is that simple. Get yourself a roll of shrink wrap from you local hardware store for like 20 bucks and simply wrap the amp with it ( don't wrap the speaker area of course) but 10 or so wraps on top and the top sides will be enough to protect you amp from the pesky spills and since it is plastic it just wipes off with a clean towel.

the great thing about this is even if you do an outdoor gig and it rains you are protected. Oh and I know what you are thinking overheating right well no chances of that because plastic breaths.

Everyone knows that using a pick while playing the bass gives your sound much more attack and a sharper edge. However if you're really into metal and a big time shredder the best pick you can use on your bass is one of these...

Bass Tip of the day: did you hear that old saying you could catch more flies with honey than with vinegar? Well you can also use that wonderful honey on your bass that's right it won't hurt it a bit. And you say what? why honey on my bass? Because honey can be used as a all natural guitar polish! That's right and this is how you use it. Take the bass that really has lost its luster over the years and grab that jar of honey out of your cabinet I'll wait its is in there all the way at the back......... Now pour it all of your bass now comes the trick take the bass outside and lay it in the grass and yes it is going to attract flies, but that is what you want the flies will stick to the honey and after about two hours grab a cloth and start rubbing the flies and honey into the finish what you don't know is guitar polish you buy is made of the common house fly yes that's right so the combination of honey and the flies rubbed into your finish we bring back the luster your old bass used to have and it will look show room new when you are done. That is your bass tip of the day.

Bass tip of the day and this is the last one today. Did you know soaking you bass strings in fresh rain water brings them back to life? Never throw your expensive bass strings away ever again. (Sorry Jason from www.bassstringsonline.com I know this is going to affect your business) If you take those dead string off your bass and soak them in rain water overnight and here is the secret put them back on still wet (yup if you dry them this won't work) now place you bass outside or in your unfinished basement so they can dry natural and there you have it, bass strings like you just took them out of the package. :) and that is your final bass tip of the day

This is dead true!
In fact that's where the football term "first string" player came from. Most teams have a first, second, third and fourth string player in a number of positions. Rarely is there a fifth string player, its because five string basses were almost unheard of until just the last 20 years, so only newer teams will have fifth string players.

UPS has just update all of their facilities with a "Bass Central" this new dept will be a exclusive area that will only handle the care of shipping bass guitars. This dept will include professional bass techs. who will perform complete inspection of the bass including setup, electronics and fitting. The beauty is that if they find anything out of spec or poor soldering they will perform these correction on the spot. And I know what you're thinking, but UPS Ceo David Abney said they are looking at a 99.9% delivery on time even with these processes if they need to be done. now that is service!

Fearing an overload of their customer claims switchboard, they have eliminated their phone contact information. Now you can simply mail your complaint to their customer service center in Mumbai, India where it will be processed in six to twelve months to their complete satisfaction.

Simple as a few drops of Krazy glue on the guitar strap and press it right up against the horn of your favorite bass and you are good to go. Never again will you worry about the strap button coming out. And if you grow tired of that strap you can just pour Acetone ( finger nail polish remover) on your bass and the strap will come right off don't worry it is safe so use it liberally it can't hurt the finish.

This procedure works great if you have a bass with serious neck dive issues. Glue the strap to the neck (after first finding a good balance point) and your problem is solved.
