Line 6 HX Effects

I think any 3 of those would work great for what you’re running. You’re not running a ton for the power supplies named. Just depends on how much you want to spend at that point.

Yeah, that's why I was considering the CS12 over the CS7, as it's more about the total amount of power the brick can deliver, rather than the amount listed from a single output. More power = more likely the HX will run happy I figured. Plus, no need to do any weird doubling/daisy chaining.

That being said, the Zuma is shiny...

Exactly why I ponied up for the Zuma. Power supply overkill for the win. Ha ha! Plus, mounting brackets for the Pedaltrain will be icing on the cake. And... shiny blue!

Man, I feel silly. I didn't realize til this morning that the signal flow view goes left to right, not right to left. Ha! Totally had my blocks in the opposite order of what I had intended.

Well that’ll make quite a difference haha I know that was one of the first things I made sure of as soon as I turned the HX on was which way was which. Makes a big difference.

It make sense because the stomp pedals use to be in this order, but HxFx is for left handed; D

How the heck did you guys update to 2.54??? I downloaded the file from L6 but it's just an Adobe file..... I'm confused.
If you want I can send you the file

Just got mine in on Thursday. Real game changer for me. I have been a multi-effects user for quite awhile, having gone thru a Boss GT-6B, Zoom B.91ut, Boss GT-10B, Zoom B3, Zoom B3n (yes I have a problem lol) and this unit hands downs destroys them all, in terms of effects.

I do like the most of the drives and the amp models on the B3n so it will be staying on the board but mainly used for recording at home and as a part of a separate line out. I tried the trial of the Helix Native software but wasnt blown away with the bass amp models as much as the guitar. Plus since I already have an amp I like (Marshall MB4410 combo) this is a better fit for me.

I am learning guitar as well and find the HX effects work really well with some VST amp sims I use. The Obsidian and Clawthorn drives work very well IMO with the free VST TSE-BOD 3.0 (Sansamp sim) FYI.

Anyway to sum up, great unit worth every penny and several more, again IMHO

Considering that pretty much all pedal boards filled with "traditional" pedals are generally wired right to left, I find the Left to Right signal flow view on the HX to be unusual. Not a big deal now that I know what's what, but perhaps giving the option to switch the view or at least putting some sort of indicator on that screen would be helpful. Oh well, now I know!

Surprisingly, for that particular preset when I realized my error, reordering didn't do a ton different to the sound. Biggest difference was having the Obsidian moved to last and my comp block moved to first. But even that was minimal change, sound-wise. The chorus tone I dialed with have to be adjusted. Probably the dirt sound I had arranged. But nothing I wasn't able to work with on the fly.

Figured it cause i was trying to assign expression pedal to the level on the comp block to feed a delay with long and full repeats. Would turn the expression down and the whole rest of the signal would go down too. Was driving me nuts for a bit!

I find this odd, considering on the M13 you could swap the order in either direction.

Nice! Main thing is ya gotter figured out.

You can absolutely swap order of any and all blocks! But the signal flow mode lists the blocks/effects from left to right. Input - - > output
Makes sense I guess, if you live in the Southern Hemisphere.

I should probably wait til I own one before contributing to this thread. I have followed this since the beginning and in many ways, the HxFx is calling to me. When my Bongo sells, I don’t think my PayPal balance will be safe from an acquisition.

What I need is a few more software horror stories to slow my roll. It worked for my Source Audio gas.

I followed for a while before pulling the trigger on an HX, too. Totally worth it, IMO. And like @gregmon79, I'm still really digging it. The honeymoon phase continues.

The guitar player for my band has the Helix Floor, and kept telling me stuff about it (similar to some of the stuff I was seeing in this thread), and I think both boxes aren't truly understood until you get your hands on one and really get under the hood to see what they can do.

Yeah I mean I’ve had a few times where it bugged out on me but that could be because of my powering methods. Which led me to simply power off then on again. Fixed. Still weird. Yet still no knock against it. It’s been stellar for me otherwise. Def one of the coolest and best gear acquisitions I’ve ever snagged. It’s a digital modeler with software in it. I kinda take the bugs as par for the course most times I guess. Other platforms are better with this than others. Not to say L6 isn’t good with it. It just is what it is I guess is what I’m sayin.

Given the platform and hardware that it has I can see a few bugs/duds getting through (referring to the other stories I’ve heard on forums and social media). But it also seems like L6 is one of those companies that seriously takes care of issues and it’s customers. And quickly too from what I’ve seen. So even if I did have issues I’d be confident in them taking care of me in a quick and easy fashion. Hopefully I’ll never have to find out.
